This system is really badly made. I worked super hard to get up to 1906 on a Frost Mage which I never play much, and I was so proud and I was ready to hit 1950, just to have for the first time in months an electricity outage that lasted 2 minutes, when I came back I had deserter debuff, and was yeeted down to 1736.
I get it, we want to limit the amount of players quitting Solo Shuffle when they lose, but this is absurd. I was penalized for a potential Act of God but so HARSHLY and for what ??
This right here. This is the thing that pushes me away. I don’t want to do solo shuffles anymore, I went from being almost Rival II to being cranked back down to Challenger.
I never quit, I never dodge a team, I never give up, I never int, I never troll, but I have 1 force of nature deciding today I have an electricity outage and I’m penalized as if I quit often. How absurdly dumb is that system??
We want to keep players and I just feel like I got kicked out, this ruined all the fun I’ve had doing Solo Shuffles this season.
I’m sorry that happened to you, I can’t imagine the frustration. I hope you can earn it back again soon.
What Capslock said above is true though. The game can’t tell why someone left, just that they left. If power outages are occur with any regularly in your area, you might invest in a back up power supply. Make sure you put your PC and internet equipment on it. In case of an outage, you hopefully have enough juice to finish the matches.
Edit:
It’s designed that way on purpose, to really really incentive people to stay in the match fully.
You can always make an in-game Suggestion or post in the PvP forums if you think it’s something that will change. Unfortunately there isn’t anything here in this specific forum that can help. No one can re-add rating and feedback isn’t passed along.
I believe there should be a seasonal debuff if you leave a match. I never left yet I get the same as anyone else that could be spam leaving and that’s literally just not fair.
This is the first ever time I lost power while in a Solo Shuffle, and it’s likely it’ll never happen again since I basically lose power maybe once every 2 months.
Yet here we are, with me losing literally a whole rank worth of rating for the sake of " Keeping people from leaving their games ".
Weird how League doesn’t have something remotely as insane for ranked games, you maybe lose 1/3rd of a Division INSIDE a Rank. Not a whole rank. It’s like I was Diamond and they decided this game I lost power so I deserve to be yeeted down to Platinum 2.
The issue with people leaving is caused from the Queue Time being way too long so that when people just leave it wastes others times. Maybe try and figure out a way to shorten those queue timer and people wouldn’t cry about wanting others to be penalized THAT harsh
It’s very fair. Everyone is treated the same. That is fair.
Again, the game has no idea that this is what happened.
This isn’t League. This is WoW. Two different companies.
It’s more people rage quitting when things aren’t going their way, harming the team. A harsher penalty is needed.
It’s why you get the deserter debuff no matter what if you leave or get kicked from a dungeon. People abuse the system, so now there is a harsh penalty.
Yet again, 200 rating loss is just abusive. Yank me down to the bottom of my rank that I don’t mind, I’ll do the whole Rival I back to reach Rival II, but literally being in the mid-end of Challenger II when I was almost Rival II ?
That is not fair. Not only do I have to work hard already to regain a peak I have to work EXTRA hard just to reach back at LEAST Rival
Regardless of your feelings on the matter, the cs forum is not the place to make any suggestions for revisions to the systems. The dev teams do not visit here.
I’d recommend the PvP forums for what you’re after.
It doesn’t help what has already happened but you can buy a backup power source that will kick in during a power outage. You can also set your system to automatically connect to your hotspot on your phone if it loses connection.
You will also want to power your Internet hardware (router, modem, etc) with this as well, or you will get a network disconnect which is exactly the same as the computer crashing or powering off as far as Blizzard’s servers are concerned.
…Act of god is the name given to natural events, could be earthquake, storms, ect…
It’s just about losing so much to nothing. Yes I will gain it back but it was my first time 1800+ with a Frost Mage since I don’t usually play mage, I worked hard for it and I was proud of it just to lose it to nothing.
Then why are you commenting? This isn’t trolling, go and reach your highest Peak in Arena just to lose 200 rating to an outage and comeback to me.
No, once again, just remove me the rating I should’ve lost had I lost all 6 rounds, despite how many wins you might’ve had before DCing or leaving. This should end up with at most like 60 rating loss, which is still high for anyone just wanting to leave but not so high that people DCing without wanting to lose that much.
What’s the point of this part ? I can’t be frustrated for losing so much without it being in my power ? Ranked gamemodes in any games are essentially to prove that you are better than a % of the playerbase, at least in PvP. Now it’s not even about being proven wrong, just mother nature deciding I’d be yanked down.
Hey Chainsa as someone who’s 2400 in solo shuffle I’d hate to lose any rating I’ve gained! It sucks your power went out, but when this happens I just connect to personal hotspot! Hope this helps
Except it’s not. Neither devs nor GMs come to this specific forum. The SFAs do not pass along feedback posted in Customer Support to other teams, they are here to help guide people or answer what questions they can.
Edited for clarification: this thread was originally in Customer Support forums. I’m unsure of when it moved to Arenas. Areanas is most definitely a place they take feedback from. My statement teas in regards to the Customer Support forum only.
