In the latest PTR build they nerfed all damage by 8%, but increased lava burst by 20%. I tested it and details still had my damage on the target dummy before the change and the damage of lava burst went from 1.1 mil to 1.2 mil. Granted, that wasn’t consistent - it was with all the multipliers.
I tested my damage on live and on ptr on my R Druid friend we play together. He healed through PTR burst with Overgrowth and 1 NS (they get 2). Damage isn’t there. Considering sustain is nowhere near these burst windows aren’t significant.
I was just on there again and was dueling someone just testing burst. It was another shaman so he would auto heal and I would deal a total of 9.52 mil dmg. I precast storm keeper and elemental, and then the dmg meter would start with frost shock and prim wave (so basically 2 secs of super low dmg) and when I would kill him I was at 1.36m dps. Unfortunately however, my biggest lvb was 532k which is just sad.
If you can try it again, here’s the burst sequence. (I’ve toyed around with different versions of it and this seems to be the best)
elemental, storm keeper - f shock - p wave - ascendance - ancestral swiftness + trinket + blood lust + lvb (ancestral swiftness lvb will not use up your instant lvb from prim wave) - lb - lvb - earth shock - lb - and then lvb, es and lb when lvb one cd.
Also, now that ascendance is awesome for overloads, spec into earth shock overloads. Along with this, my gear is all mastery with some crit and no haste. Mainly because we get the haste from blood lust (and even more if you spec ascendance into it).

I played this. Went Versa/Haste/Mastery and firstly got 2 stacks of Power of the Maelstrom then Stormkeeper → Fire Ele → Refresh Fire Elemental → Ancestraf Swiftness + Primordial ->Bloodlust-> Ascendance → Lightning Bolt → Lava Burst → Lightning Bolt → Lava Burst → Earth Shock and then spam Lava Bursts and Lightn ing bolts.
My partner healed it with Overgrowth + NS. Didn’t even Wall.
I cannot imagine playing Ele in Arena with no Haste. It would be a nightmare. It’s more about globals than cast time to be fair. You won’t be able to ground, dispel or tremor on time.

Since you can easily change your gear on ptr, you should give full mastery/crit with no haste out.
No idea if these changes would make a huge difference if he’s easily healing through it, but I’d be interested in knowing.

I actually hadn’t used it before and someone suggested it, and I have played around with it and was surprised. And, yes I also use counterstrike totem, not sure what the issue is there?
30% more Lightning Damage on 3 instant hits right off the bat or more with everything elese that stormbringer has isn’t some small thing.

Yes. It’s possible that they may rethink the direction though, certainly have been a lot of complaints about meatballs.
i was hit by a 700k lava burst earlier in a bg while i was using my defensive cd and sitting in d stance on my warrior earlier
Volcanic surge is a really fun talent but if some of the enemy dps decide to shut you down then your damage will be terrible. But 30% bolt damage and 45% lava burst damage is no joke.
I haven’t played it yet this expac but I played the meme one shot build for the last two seasons of DF and it’s the only spec in the game that I believe can actually solo global someone (unless they use a defensive or counter it)
I use it in 2s with Shamanism.
It is very frontloaded but works decent when you cast while moving.
The 2+ Elementals you get when opening are significant too.
It’s just been fun for me, and I find it easier than farseer in PvE. And, there I do understand that people like the playstyle of maintaining flame shocks on mobs and cleaving lava burst.
When we get new ancestral spirit models, I may mess with it again.
I’ll mess around today with arena now that I completed my Vault runs.

To be fair I mostly play arenas so all my opinions are based around arena gameplay. And I cannot imagine Ele playing no haste as it will be horrible using your key utility. BG Blizz - maybe.
Hey all, I was watching a pvp video, can’t link, but the guy is very knowledgeable and provides a Farseer PvP build, with flexible variations and a Stormbringer one.
As to the Farseer PvP build, I noticed that he didn’t take Stormseeker in the Elemental tree. Not on any variation of hus PvP spec.
Is that a typical decision for Farseer PvP? I know we can’t take everything, but I always thought the instant lb/cl casts were always worth it in Elemental Shaman Specs.
Is it simply that his rotation has so many instant casts that there’s no need to have this channeled GCD for 2 casts?

Yes it is. I’m EU player and historically Elemental Shaman was doing better in our region. Most of the top Elementals play something like this:
This is a build from Swapxy. You have a small go combining Ancestral Swiftness with Primordial Wave, BL on you and partner every minute and big go combining things mentioned previously with Ascendance and Spiritwalker’s Grace. Keep in mind that your Ancestors cast Lava Bursts also when you press Frost Shock, Icefury, Earth Shock.
The ability that deals the most damage is Earth Shock. I hit already some 1,7 mln ones.
Gear is full Haste/Versa with embelishments: Crafted weapon with Haste/Versa and Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension and Gloves Haste/Versa with Writhing Armor Banding.

Last, in the Link you provided, Nature’s Swiftness wasn’t taken, don’t you need to take it to synergize with the Farseer line so that you summon an Ancestor?
I just want to be sure, I am going to lock this in a try it out. I have been playing Stormbringer for PvP so far, and I really like it.
But, I want to sample other things. I have gone mostly haste/versitility.

Weird. Maybe it was his PvE build or something because NS and Totemic Recall are mandatory. I just copied it from check-pvp.fr and didn’t look into it but you are right. I play both. Check my main on EU - Hexualna-Outland. I messed up gearing a bit - bought chest instead of Shoulders so don’t copy it but besides it’s fine.

I heard to go Shoulders and Leggings first, don’t know if that’s true but that’s what I did. No big deal either way.
Any chance you also play mage? I used my lvl 70 boost for that because I thought it might be a good alternative to elemental Shaman in terms of a spell dps class.
That’s correct. Also buy one conquest crafting token and craft weapon and offhand.
I did a bit but it’s way different and I’d say harder to begin with. Imo try SP. It’s quite similar. A lot of utility etc. You will have to get used to juking more.
