Add her to the list. There are still several people I’m waiting for my chance to kill but I know I’ll never get it.
Please at this point Sylvanas would be thinking Lich Queen is below her pay grade.
I hope one is Anduin. I hate him, granted he hasn’t committed atrocities like Sylvanas, but he’s still such a bad character that ruins the overall quality of the story that I hope he gets killed off. Then maybe a good leader can lead the Alliance, like Muradin.
that would not solve your problem if the same writter stays and write whoever is the next alliance leader.
They would do the same to him/her.
If they kill Anduin, who becomes leader of Stormwind? I have no idea who is next in line of succession.
Man all the photoshop experts at the beginning of the thread btfo
There’s nobles that we still haven’t seen in game. Maybe they could have a war of succession and we could get the first interesting thing to come out of Stormwind since the Defias.
Unfortunately Anduin has some pretty thick plot armor. There was a comic released just before Legion where Velen has a vision of Anduin as an old man. Unless that is retconned Anduin’s sticking around for a while.
The good thing about visions of the future is they can always change.
The eyes thing bugs me though if the blue eyes is nerzul or arthas coming back i dont know what to say just to dumb undoes wrath completly.
Arthas or Ner’zhul coming back removes all restrains on the Lich King as the Lich King from Wrath of the Lich King had Arthas’s Human Soul holding him back with Paladin-esque morals while a Lich King without Arthas’s Human Soul influencing him would do whatever he wants.
The Lich King of course is stated in Chronicle to have gone on the warpath because of his Paladin-esque morals(because he wanted an army to fight the Legion). A Lich King without that probably wouldn’t go on the warpath so easily.
Lich King Arthas without his morals would be content with just ruling his throne while Lich King Ner’zhul would want Kil’jaeden dead(which has recently happened as of Legion) and with him gone Ner’zhul has not much left to do aside from just rule Northrend.
Yeah but this would be spun as a long just as planned by nerzul and to be means all of ersth bar ulduar was actully pointless just as bolvars sacrafuce was pointless.
Bolvar wasn’t originally intended to be the Lich King until feedback from the community made him the new one.
Bolvar’s death being meaningless puts us back to the same situation post-Wrathgate or rather it doesn’t as we purged what was making the Lich King go on the warpath by shattering Frostmourne and killing Arthas’s body sending Arthas’s impulsive Soul to the Afterlife where it can’t interfere with Lich King Arthas’s mind.
I was never a fan of there must always be a lich king and if they bring nerzul or arthas back as the dominant one i know they won’t be happy to just sit back and hold the scourge back it will be lets unite everyone in death at best.
You think on this way more than blizz would they run by rule of cool not rule of what makes sense.
I will be unhappy if they toss Bolvar aside and make him a puppet for Ner’zhul. Bolvar has a lot of plot development they could make for him with his daughter and old life in general.
What would would be interesting is if Bolvar and Ner’zhul exist at the same time, with Bolvar the one in control of the body but Ner’zhul far more able to command the powers of the helm itself. They could have some cool inner dialog scenes between the two as they decide on what actions to take.
Ner’zhul was not in and of himself an evil guy, as shown when Arthas ruthlessly wrecked the guy with his own emotions/regrets. Bolvar’s influence could perhaps keep that asepct of Ner’zhul front and center.
Certainly did. But I think the question here is what is meant. He is bad in the same sense that all the members of the Ebon Blade are bad. Yes, they do bad things. From some perspectives they are bad people. But, they do it for a good purpose. Kind of the anti-hero role.
What I meant was that it would be a mistake for him to be the villain. It is one thing for the ‘Jailor of the Damned’ to play the role of dark ally. I am very much okay with that story arc. And it would fit everything he deals with combined with his story arc. Having him turn into Arthas-esque villain means you kill him and either end the scourge or kill him and replace him. If you don’t replace him, then it invalidates basically his entire story arc and the end of WotLK. If you replace him you establish that Lich Kings will always be corrupted and a threat, so you end up just killing them over and over and over…etc. Neither option is really good.
I agree. I would say it looks like they do not need an evil Lich King this time around. The Villain role seems like it will be taken by Sylvanas and her spooky Shadowlands ally. Bolvar fighting to keep the balance between the living and the dead sounds like a much more compelling story than “oh, Bolvar is now evil because reasons so go defeat him.”
Agreed, but he was being very sketchy in Legion. I’m not saying he was a villain, but he definitely wasn’t good.
I still feel like we are going to get something involving Bolvar and Taelia, whether that entails her being injured/killed by Sylvanas making Bolvar lose it or what. Something is going to happen between them. What if we get some weird story where Taelia has to take up the helm and Bolvar chooses to remain in the helm permanently, like his soul, to help keep her safe from corruption by the helm.
The hammer is an interesting touch, very Tolkien-essque.
For those who haven’t read the Silmarillion, Morgoth (Sauron’s boss) went to battle using a big black hammer, similar to what Bolvar’s using. Is an interesting little parallel, since Lich King Arthas was very similar to Sauron.
One Helm to rule them all,
One Helm to find them
One Helm to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them
