Echoing Void Nerf

JoeSchmo is getting invites regardless to groups because tanks are in short supply.

Why have rolls in game at all…everyone would be a tank, i take less damaged and can dps as good as anyone…you guys know this. You see it out in the world enough, people roll tanks so they take less damage and can solo elites. I like playing tanks out and about to, they are still fun when not doing dps damage.

The proper reason for nerfing echoing void would be there being far too large of a power gap between tanks that get lucky and get it, and tanks that are not fortunate enough to get it. Nerfing it decreases that power gap to a reasonable level.

I hope that is the reason for it being nerfed rather then: “tanks are doing too much damage and having way too much fun!!!” Because I don’t see anything wrong with that to be honest, feeling more impactful on damage as a tank.

Haha wat.

Naowh was like top 6 DPS on LIMIT’s world first kill solely due to stacking echoing void.

No offense but that’s just wrong.

Phew I just stopped laughing. Do you think a group that has been waiting 20 minutes for a tank would then scrutinize the corruption of the first well geared experienced tank who apped? :joy::sob::joy:

You don’t M+ do you?

This was due to Echoing void having no limit to the number of mobs it hits. So there, that might be something to change if it will trivialize overpulls in mythics, i get it. 5mobs max.

Clearly limit DPS just needs to L2P. They are never going to get world first like that!

lol you should have watched a video or two , or got a group with any good tank, and you woulda seen how wrong you are

Yea, unfortunately I found out about this nerf hours before the reset haha. As a Guardian Druid, it was extremely fun to experience [Echoing Void] . As to how
I obtained such an experience, I randomly go it during a WQ.

I wish they didn’t have to Nerf it to the floor, but hey. its happening lol. If the nerf of this corruption is enough to deter anyone from tanking, or even enter the role. . . welp, i’ll let each one your beliefs interpret that.

But yea, R.I.P E.V , I’ll still use it though :stuck_out_tongue:

So if a single corruption was doing 40% of your damage, is it doing 20% now enough to make it complete garbage?

Not for the hard stuff though. I will wait for a tank that brings a bonus 40% damage.

The issue is tanks that feel they should be a DPS role while tanking at the same time.

Yes. Thats enough apparently to make tanks quit.

I don’t know where we found tanks before they got a 20% dps buff!

Leave the martyrdom to the healers.

This argument could be used to justify nerfing all corruptions to the ground. My 466 mage has ZERO dps corruptions. Should I cry about all those that have Stars?

quit? no. However, I certainly won’t be looking to PuG nearly as much as the fun won’t be nearly as high. I was having a ton of fun running low level keys to help others. Not any more. This nerf hurts everyone and helps no one.

Blame the dps criers.

All they care about is parses and their epeen anyway.

Bro, I was not feeling that when i was tanking with Echoing Void [EV]. I was like “oh s*it, this is sick!! I can help the group clear faster!” Thus becoming a 4th DPS in the group. That feeling was just simply a byproduct of having EV xD

Badly designed aspects of the game hurts the game over all, even if you personally enjoy it.

A single item giving 40% more damage is bad design.

God forbid people have to actually press buttons on their keyboard instead of having Echoing Void play the game for them. I love the fact that it was so broken that warcraftlogs is basically wiping all parses today by splitting them between pre nerf and post nerf. But please keep telling yourself that having it do 12-20% of somebodies damage was “balanced”.

That makes sense.

There is definitely going to be collateral damage, as tanks such as myself will run far, far fewer pugs, if ever. I’m pretty much back to just tanking for guild runs now as the fun element cut in half is definitely not as fun.

I do think reducing the number of mobs affected would be a better solution, however.

You pay a big corruption price for it. Shall we nerf all the other ones that do more % for dps?
