If a person is 8 levels higher than the max level nerf exp gained to an abysmal amount 1, 2xp
I’d love to easily find some low-level dungeon groups, but everyone is getting boosted
Yw
If you take away boosting, you’d still be just as alone. Players are more likely to not level alts at all if boosting isn’t an option. Nerfing dungeon xp by your suggestion would do nothing but hinder end game content.
They actually did this in Season of Mastery and added a 100% XP from quests and even more from dungeon/elite quests buff.
Won’t solve anything the people buying boosts or paying gold don’t wanna lvl for a reason. You take it away they won’t lvl alts. If anything adding dungeon finder specially for low lvl dungeons would solve your issue. A lot of people like lvling in dungeons but it just isn’t worth the time at this point in the game.
it dosen’t need a “fix”.
maybe revert those stupid blizzard changes so I can do it faster …
So people who don’t want to be out leveling won’t be leveling? Not a problem.
Those who are interested in alts will level them.
Ya but boosting some guildiess through RFC or Wc, to get them going is where it does good, and a player can be familiarized with the map and mobs of different instances and have better gear to do questing in, and make it more enjoyable, also forces guildies into socializing and eliminate their fear of looking like a noob
…and they’ll be in the same situation they’ve been in. “old world is dead” “nobody doing dungeons” etc. Op’s suggestion will not fix his reasoning behind said suggestion.
I don’t think anyone here has an issue with the old-school run-throughs. It’s the leveling from 10-70 by paying someone to repeatedly clear content while you AFK that’s the rub.
It’d remove an exploit. Thats a good thing.
Honestly the part about making a business of it is that most are not considering is that when you pay that mage to boost you all you get is xp, no gear or drops, The mage then floods the auction house and deflates the value of the items so when players try and sell what they get questing or grouping and it doesn’t net as much.
The whole thing sucks and needs to go.
Only solution here is to remove the 1 per account limit on the 58 boost. You take away dungeon boosting and you’re essentially killing long term end game content thriving.
Best way to remove boosting? Is by making questing and open world gameplay just and rewarding experience wise. People do it because it is fast. Leveling speed is so slow in vanilla zones that few people want to do it. This drives people to boosting.
Even if it were the same speed, boosting is hands off and lets them do other things while doing it. You can only level so many times without being bored to tears of it.
The main issue, as well, is that players boosting are doing it to rush to endgame. I rushed this Shaman to 60 during the pre-patch and while I made it fairly quickly - I burned myself out and don’t want to level to 60 again. Hell, I don’t even want to level through Outland for the third time in Classic.
They will but that’s not any kind of a guarantee they’ll be interested in grouping with you.
So? I level solo anyway.
If the final boss of any dungeon is ‘gray’ to any member of the party, reduce all experience gained by ~90%. Players will still buy a run through RFC, Deadmines, Stockages, Scarlet Monastery for the multiple quests, maybe for a specific drop.
For increasing ‘normal’ runs for lower-level dungeons, LFD would help, too (in conjunction with the above suggestion)-- because if a player would rather boost to endgame, LFD isn’t going to sway them.
Once again someone has it backwards. Dungeon carries are the result of deserted low level brackets, not the cause. You blame your inability to get groups on dungeon carries but if they were stopped, you’d actually be no better off. You’d still find no groups because the brackets are empty.
What you should be complaining about instead are boosts. Paying to instantly skip to 58 only makes low level brackets even more deserted. Make no mistake, most players HAVE bought at least 1 boost. But even if Blizzard never sold boosts, low level brackets would STILL be deserted at this point. Classic had its day (twice). We’re in burning crusade now. You can either live with this or go play season of mastery.

Why are people against this so much? When I want to help a friend I boost them without gold involved at all. Normal leveling is tedious. If they done the som changes now then you know exactly what would happen. No one would run dungeons and people would boost outside of them, oneshotting and speedrunning their friends quests for the exp instead. Doesnt need a fix.
Things here are a bit exaggerated…
- Players are limited to 1 paid boost per account (no Draenei or Blood Elves)
- Leveling content was always quiet after the inital rush of Vanilla/Classic
- The “carries” of old were limited to quest runs or folks looking for twink gear. Boosting, as it’s done today was non-existent in 2006-2010
Modern boosting methods are also killing the 58-70 content.
Paid boosts get one toon to 58… Out of the 50 you’re allowed to create per account.
