I’m just wondering whats the easiest way to do this. Should i just make an alt on a less populated server, level them so they can learn fishing, and go to stranglethorn with them?

This fishing event is in northrend every sat its not in stv…
Oh. I thought it was a stranglethorn event. Cause ive heard stranglethorn has a fishing event but ive never done it
Northrend one is a lot easier, but it’s RNG based.
I got it on 4th week and I fished right under Dalaran. There is a lake and no one is ever there.

Would doing it on a low population server help? I dont care for the heirlooms, but i do at least want the ring since you dont get one on a fresh alt for a while. If so id still have to make a new alt and level them up enough to get the fishing skill
now they will be lol.

We’re like 3rd or 4th biggest server in US afaik.
So yeah, it’s easily a few dozen people doing it.
But Kaulak is RNG. All you need is one. Just need to find pools.
If you’re really really desperate…sure, find a dead server. Level up like warrior to tank RDFs to 70. Level fishing and get it.
Well, i have 2 servers i set up alts on. My horde characters are on Mankrik, i forget what i put my alliance on (its an alliance heavy server). Of the two, only on Mankrik do i have almost level 70s, with a 57 troll shaman and 55 undead dk
it’s not easy if your on a mega server, if your on bene/feralina/grob your chances of winning is low, xfer a rando lvl 71+ alt to a dead server get ring and your set
mankrik has a decent amount of people on it, would go to maladeth or the dead fresh servers that have like 50 people on them
If you don’t have a DK yet they’re a great option for both of the fishing events. PoF lets you stand on the water/run to another pool. They’re easy to level. You could even make it the opposite faction and use it to farm the argent tourney pets as they’re account wide now!
Doing the event on a dead realm is probably the only way most players will ever get this ring. It’s totally RNG, and with dozens of people racing for it, you’re unlikely to ever get it first. They need to chop off the 1 winner limit and just let everyone go for a shark.
Yes, it would be better to do the tournament on a lesser populated server. But it is just pure luck. I won the tournament last Saturday on Faerlina with my druid. Got the shark after 4 min with like 260 fishing skill.
It was the second tournament I had participated in so it’s not impossible to win on a heavily populated server. The first tournament two weeks prior it took me like 40 min to fish the shark.
Just get your fishing to 100, get the item that gives you the “find fish” ability and hit up grizzly hills or howling fjord. I won the tournament fishing in howling fjord as grizzly hills had a lot of people already waiting.
yeah I took my troll mage to the fishing event in stv at the end (did a /who all 1-80 at the time on horde side and only 8 horde were online), got the 1st place fishing lure tinket that turns you into a fish.
Its a funny trinket that you can cast fireballs while in fish form.
Maladead realm is the way to the 1st place fishing prizes
