Easiest Tank to play in MoP?

Anyone know what the easiest tank to play in MoP is? I assume its either Pally or Druid? Also preferably if its less spam heavy as my wrist is prone to wrist pain lol.

If any of you more experienced players could also talk about pros and cons that would be great, ive never played MoP before and want to get into tanking.

Paladin or Blood DK. Paladin is probably point for point ā€œeasierā€, but DK probably gets more value for less effort

Hmm I might go Pally then. Do you think the Race matters as much? Also semi off topic but can I send gold cross faction to my alts? Kinda wanna play Belf lol

Unless you’re in a top tier cutting edge day 1 heroic raiding guild, race means practically nothing

And no you can’t mail gold cross faction

Cool tyvm man

the only way to get gold across faction’s is gonna be using the neutral AH but you would need 2 accounts for that, unless something was changed that allows you to do it through 1 account.

Blood DK
Pros:
one of the easiest rotations
good self sustain
can solo dungeon and output quite a bit of dps
starts at lvl 55 - less grinding

cons:
might be a little worse than monk
if you are new might be overwhelming since it starts you at lvl55 and you already will have 8-10 abilities unlocked

But again, he has potentially one of the easiest rotations (IMO).

I will tell you straight up right now, do NOT play Paladin. I personally love the playstyle but they lack the consistent damage reductions needed in order to be a great tank. From my experience, Paladin was at the bottom of survivability for the majority if not all of MoP.

This is coming from someone that religiously tanked all tank specs throughout the entirety of MoP.

Yes. I was obsessed. Leave me alone.

To clarify which one would be best? Druid is great but only after 5.2. DK was basically God all throughout MoP. Warrior was okay but need to be geared lots of dodge/parry until patch 5.4. I’m pretty sure Monk was basically one of the top all throughout MoP. I could be wrong but I don’t remember feeling weak at all whatsoever on my Monk.

Well my question is I really just want to play in a more normal guild. I want to clear Heroic versions of the raid ofc but how much does it matter really? Thematically DK doesnt really interest me, Druid is okay but not as cool as Pally. I know it silly though.

But realistically for ur like ā€œaverage joeā€ how important is not having defensives? Assuming I also want do MT and do like Heroics in a reasonable amount of time?

This will depend on how well you play the class. Knowing when to use CDs at the right time as a MT is important.

My raid team had a MT pally for p1 of cata she refused to use CDs and learn a rotation properly we were 1/13H before we dumped her and got a druid tank.

Prot Paladin was arguably the best tank after Blood DK and Brewmaster for most of Pandaria

Blood dk is by far the easiest. Take runic corruption for rune regen, hit/exp to soft-caps>mastery (until 200% unbuffed)>haste.

You literally press death strike death strike heart strike heart strike and then press rune strike until runic corruption procs, when it procs you get runes back and you just repeat the cycle lmao, when dnd/blood boil light up you press one of those and then go back to mindlessly spamming keys.

There’s a breakpoint in there for haste somewhere where a single runic corruption proc recovers 3 runes completely (alternatively there’s a hard-cap where you regen all 6) and then you probably want to stack crit/parry to abuse riposte.

With the new changes to blood DK(particularly the reduction from 1.5 to 1.0 second gcd), that class is definitely not going to feel less spam heavy.

I don’t disagree with this. It is great and it is fun. I’m only saying this from the standpoint of where Heroic progression was concerned. Our Pally tank kept dying for seemingly random reasons and the only reason came simply due to the lack of damage reductions in some situations. Only some. The rest of the tanks just ā€œfeltā€ better.

Still don’t disagree. Pally was one of my favorite ones to play for sure.

10% rep bonus is the best passive
but a human would say that
and brew master, blood dk or guardian look pretty face tank if that’s what you’re going for.

Prot Paladin likely

Easiest does not necessarily mean the best.

The easiest tank to play by far is Guardian Druid. It is very simple to play and can clear all content. The skill floor is low, but so is the ceiling. There is little room for skill expression, and it is probably the ā€˜worst’ tank overall this phase (but still good! It also should improve later in the expansion).

The best would be Blood DK. But it is definitely not as easy as Guardian. It can be a bit spiky in MoP, but you are incredibly self sufficient not even needing healing a lot of the time when played properly.

Prot Pally is probably somewhere in the middle of DK and Druid. It is relatively simple, but has a lot of utility buttons that you will be expected to use correctly in dungeons and raids.

If you go dk, you can get away with not being very good at it, but if you do get good, it is one of the best tanks. I would say it is the best, but with the tweeks they are doing its an unknown at this time.
