Nah. Prot war is by far the worst tank for a noob to pick up.
You have windows of vulnerability with shield block.
It is incredibly fast paced with lucid weaving ignore pains and shield blocks in between every GCD to get max CDR.
You have to know all the casts that you can spell reflect, which sometimes isn’t obvious. For example the miniboss in KR doesn’t care if you spell reflect. It just goes right thru, even tho it’s a ST spell. On the opposite end is the blobs in junkyard. The big aoe they do you can pop spell reflect and run into them and they put a gigantic dot on themselves. Not a targeted spell but randomly works.
It has no ranged kick or grip or silence to help you gather packs.
This entire thread is stupid though. Half the people commenting don’t do any competitive content, and the other half seem like they formed their opinions 3 expansions ago and are sticking to them despite drastic changes in the way the game works.
If you really want unbiased tank evaluations, go to YouTube. Or sloots stream. Or any streamer over 5k score playing a tank.
Any half arsed tier list or decently competent rank streamer will be better information than general discussion forums lmao.
I would have to agree with this assessment. Spider is the only thing that can kill you and you can even cheese the tank buster hit if you purposely face away from the boss a few auto attacks before it comes out to build elusive brawler stacks and face him when the big attack comes in.
its because of the lack of abilities that makes it harder.
your rotation is simpler sure, and you dont have to do as much to survive, but they lack all of the abilities that make warrior so easy to tank with.
warrior never struggles to hold hate at all, bear tanks tend to struggle moreso in earlier content due to just a lack of options.
like if i lose hate on my war i use one of 5 aoes, and bear gets 1 with 2 charges so like if they lose hate its lost for a good amount of time somtimes if they messup
which is why bear is just regarded as difficult to just pickup and play, its not like every other tank that has plenty of options to makeup for any mistakes you make
I 100% agree with this lots of people seem to have an easy time with it, but me? I fail horribly with it and gave the healers the worst time possible. Ill stick with MW as a Monk.
