Which spec has the fewest keys/keybinds/macros to be effective at World Quests/Storyline stuff? I have wanted to try Rogue a few times but the sheer amoutn of keybinds and keys just seemed overwhleming.
Same question for M+

Assassin felt simpler to me when I played one
Outlaw was pretty braindead during early Shadowlands.
I hear it’s turned into kind of a mess in Dragonflight though. Can someone verify if it’s baseline changes or just a specific build that gets that way? Because if you can still build more or less like Shadowlands, I’d probably still say just go with Outlaw.
Please keep in mind OP is talking about World Content, not Optimal DPS for M+23. I’m sure the overly complicated mess is probably near mandatory if you want max performance.
Assassination is very simplistic in PVE.
But IMO also satisfying to play.
Probably outlaw i would say, dont listen to non rogue players
As a non rogue player who have been leveling a rogue, I really like assassin. It’s very sustained and consistent and straightforward, while still being rogue-ish enough. The idea of combat is too much like a normal melee, while sub rogue requires too much setup.
Another vote for assassin.
Apply poisons
Use mutilate/ambush to generate combo points
Keep slice and dice (self haste buff) up on yourself
Keep garrote and rupture on the target, refreshing when they’re about to fall off
If those are good, use envenom as your combo point finisher
That’s basically it, and you’ll get better with the other tricks and tools as you get more comfortable.
Every current class and spec can be played by a child. There isn’t anything complex anymore.
Not for everyone. I wish I could say all classes and specs are easy; some I can’t play well to save my life.
Not sure how you can master all of them but I tip my hat to you if so.
I didn’t say I’ve got them all mastered, I just said that there are no complex specs. Anyone should be capable of playing anything.
Outlaw is easier. Don’t go near sin for your own sanity.
I like Outlaw for simplicity. I use this Weakaura for RtB:
https://wago.io/Pd53s_NPU
I made a WA to remind me about SnD, and I made a macro for my opener:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=combat Blade Flurry, Stealth, Roll the Bones, Adrenaline Rush, Slice and Dice
Everything else is is Whack-a-mole after opening.
Assassination is the easiest by far, and outlaw is only manageable with a WA that does RTB thinking for you.
However, all 3 specs have a button bloat issue.
Outlaw is fairly simple to pick up, but whrn you want to get better at it, its ability prio is a bit of an SAT question.
Also, and more importantly, you gotta get real acquainted with your local latency and the awkwardness of spending BTE right after stealth ends.
Wow, this is good stuff. Got any other Rogue macros?
I tried the macro but it only did 1 thing, blade fury, and none of the other spells. Do I spam it?
Thank you… got the weak aura just now… I tried the macro, and same as Dimaggio, it only casts Blade Fury and then does nothing. What am I doing wrong?
Probably assassination, though they gave every spec shadow dance which is kind of annoying
You really shouldn’t be wasting a keybind on a castsequence macro like that.
The opener is easy to remember, and you will need keybinds for every skill in there for normal combat anyways.
Personally I like Assassin, but I’ve been doing it so long now I don’t notice any difficulty.
Maybe try all 3 on a training dummy for a bit to figure out which one feels best for you.
Well, I was wondering also as I have never once tried a /castsequence - Does it even work. Didn’t work for me or Dim. Maybe its a setting I have that is wrong?
