People did these same things back in vanilla. But it was less rampant due only to the fact that communication between factions was much more difficult and sparse then.
They didnt screw up classic. The players did by trying to gain every advantage.
There wasnât going to be a title to begin with lol
Thats the joke!
Itâs 2020. Just give EVERYONE who zones in to silithus during the event a mount and scarab lord title.
So weakauras was in vanilla?
No. But players would communicate with other faction and have them kill players for them. Or MC players so same faction could kill them.
Yeah but there is a human element behind it versus running out in the open being notified that said target isnt the one your looking for. Thatâs a mechanic exploit.
So maybe we should just focus on banning weakaura since itâs being used in a way to circumvent the systemâs mechanics in a negative overpowering way
I was never arguing the weak aura part of anything. I am arguing the points you posted about cross faction collusion. You never mentioned anything about weakaura mob targeting in your OP.
probably worth noting that we def did talk to the opposite faction outside of game in vanilla. it was just done on forums, ventrilo, and irc. irc certainly wasnt used as commonly as discord, but it was there.
Everyone with any sense at all knows that factions have been working with each other on things since the start of wow. People are just salty now because they thought they were going to waltz in and get a fancy mount. They were not prepared.
Yeah but in Vanilla guilds werenât paying guilds of the opposite faction tens of thousands of gold to kill players of their own faction. It was against the ToS.
But its not anymore, and hasnt been since wrath. We can contemplate the various reasons for this, but it is what it is. Realistically, the blizzard of 2020 clearly has no desire spend the money or manpower required to provide the gm services and customer support that would be required to enforce such a rule, so its not surprising they failed to add it back to the TOS for classic.
I think what OP is saying is that while technically not against the law, ToS, or rules, cross faction collision is a negative behavior.
I tend to agree. Like any code of conduct, whether it be the law, ToS, or rules of a game, the ToS merely establishes the lowest possible standard for how we expect people to conduct themselves in this game. It isnât against the law to lie (unless you are giving sworn testimony) yet canât we agree that it is generally dishonest and a bad thing to do?
Letâs assume for one moment that we know what OP is saying is true. Based on Kaivaxâs blue post, you have to admit, cross faction collusion to this extent seems to be unreasonable and approaching a line of breaking the ToS.
Maybe I am wrong about this behavior breaking ToS, but at the end of the day, it doesnât matter to me. I think there are methods just as effective to get what everyone wants without this sort of behavior. For example, I wonder if any of the guilds involved thought about working with the guilds of their own faction to delay ringing the gong. I know, I know, what about week one gear, world first, ect. Maybe I am wrong, but the point is there has to be a better way to conduct ourselves as a community. One with more âintegrityâ and one that promotes team unity rather than team betrayal.
exactly Elliok
This sounds like retail and itâs that way>>>>>
I went >>>>> and my mouse scrolled over my Classic WoW window. You are direction-ally incorrect
If you arenât in a large enough, dedicated enough, neckbearded enough guild to fight back against them, you never had a chance of getting the mount in the first place.
As shady as it may seem to you that they are âcolludingâ via Discord, not much Blizzard can do about it. It is what it is.
youâre not going to get the scarab mount so why care? you can get all the other rewards after the gates are down so im not seeing how this affects you

Said I donât care about the Scarab Lord. Its the event thats been ruined. When you expect a big Horde vs Alliance you dont expect it means each side selling out to farm each otherâs factions
