I would have preffered playable Shivvar.
I mean could you imagine having to find weapons for all those arms.

I stand by every word lol
Admirable. Still going in the book.
At least itâs not another elf race.
Good god we have so many knife-ears youâd think weâre an Elder Scrolls game
And everyone ROLEPLAYS an elf, which IMO is just as boring as RPing a human.
Still say we need Sun Elves. Blood Elves Empowered by the Holy light of the Sunwell to truly represent the Light and all itâs majesty. Something to truly fight against the degeneracy of Void Elves and their filth.
4x humans, normal, part time wolf, fat, part time lizard
3x Dwarves
2x Gnomes
2xDraenei
2xOrcs
2xTrolls
2xTauren
But we have to be angry at 4x elves? Really?
first thought " ew "
second thought " kinda hot ? "
Iâm ok with it. Since we usually get a new race every other xpac and we got Dracthyr in DF we werenât due. So I guess an allied race is better than nothing. Plus I like dwarvesâŚ
Oh for sure. Even if they were, these ones weâre getting arenât actually like the earthen weâve interacted with before. The entire point of earthen is meant to be that theyâre what dwarves used to be before the curse of flesh. So they give us âearthenâ⌠who look like theyâve been affected by the curse of flesh. Thatâs just a dwarf with a retro name! Whereâs the stone beards?
All that said, despite my cynicism about them as a concept, I donât dislike what Iâve seen of them in design. They have some fantastic looking customisation options. If they were showcasing all their concept art as new customisations coming to dwarves I think we could safely bet that people would be stoked.
I know people have expressed their problems - but Iâm really excited. Iâm already thinking of names and classes for my earthen. And maybe their going to have the same issues as mechagnomes with their customizations - but IDK, just something about gem-crusted dwarves appeals to me.
Sure itâs a recolor. But almost everything is at this point unless we get something like Naga or Centaurs.
Iâm just excited to see what their racials will be.
Oh definitely, that would have been great.
So give us Naga and Centaurs.
Do it you cowards
While I like Earthen - I want my Earthen, but I also want other races too.
Like - Iâd legit love being a Centaur.
Elder scrolls has at most 6 Mer (elf) races if you include Khajit.
Most donât count Breton but i do!
Getting sick of âRaces from nowhereâ for Allied races when there are lots of established races people have been requesting for decades.
We have Ogres, Forest/Ice/Dark Trolls, High Elves, Mokânathal, Sanâlayn, Broken, Furbolgs, Gilbalins, Valâkrul, Sethyrak and many more with threads and dedicated followings and lots of lore.
A surprise Dwarf with the Racial toggled on is not exciting. People who play Dwarves already have ones they like or have been requesting the already existing Iron/Frost Dwarves or Wildhammer getting their own race and/or Racials.
Not the mention the Earthen themselves are very dull in their implementation. They could have given them vibrant Gemstone Hair or Prismatic Eyes. Or leaned into them being made of stone more and made the model more jagged and less of a reskin.
Heck, the whole race could have been made a customization for curent Dwarf Races. Learn to control the curse of flesh and all that.
They are a barbones idea that did not deserve a race slot or needed more time to cook.
I intrigued by what is our first stone made race.
I know weâll ones of white marble and polished stone but Iâm hoping theyâll also have an obsidian skin as well as skins with chips and cracks in their skin (their version of scars).
The Khajiit arenât Merfolk. Theyâre part of the Beastfolk along with Argonians.
In the ES lore, there are 9 races of Merfolk (or Elves), only four of which have been playable - Altmer (high elves), Dunmer (dark elves), Bosmer (wood elves), and Orsimer (orcs). The other five have never been a playable race - Maormer, Falmer, Dwemer, Chimer, and Ayleids.
Bretons are of the race of Men along with the Imperials, Nords, Redguard, and the extinct Nedes.
Not for me.
Iâd rather have more customizations for existing races at this point, especially since male BE got the short end of the stick.
Meanwhile my drachtyr visage is flush with options and it makes me upset that none of them are shared.
Wait, I thought Bretons had elven blood, and one could argue that Khajit are technically Merfolk because they are from the same juice or slime the other Mer are from.
Also Redguard are my favorite, their culture is pretty rad.
Earthen are several expansions too late and honestly might have been cool if we hadnât gotten dark iron.
As it is now theyâre an incredibly disappointing allied race. I think the reception has been lukewarm at best. Does anyone else remember the near silence when they tried to hype us up for âHorde Dwarves?â
Itâs a part of the lore that is up for debate due to the unreliable narrator trope. Some in-game sources say theyâre a mix of Nedic and Aldmeri, others say theyâre a mix of Nedic and Atmora.
Khajiit are not from the same origin as the Merfolk, as far as I can find in the lore. They were already present in Tamriel when the Ayleids immigrated from Summerset before the First Era. According to one of the ESO devs, Khajiit are one of the original races to inhabit Tamriel. Where as Merfolk are originally from Aldmeris, a continent that has yet to be explored in the games.
