Meh, they’ll go on the pile of - “leveled for the Heritage Armor”. Dark Iron are way cooler, imo.

I don’t really care about any race other than vanilla ones (and Draenei/Dracthyr at the time for the shaman/evoker class, but more the shaman), but this was a really lame “”“new”“” race.
Here are my thoughts:
Lack of creativity in coming up with a second race to play despite the possibility of us running into another “new” faction like we did with the Niffen.
Fair, but surely they had to know how they’d be received.
It’s not hard to take the briefest of glances at basically anywhere this community posts ideas and see which playable races people actually want. I doubt Earthen were ever close to the top of those requests.

I’d love to see something unique.
You’re forgetting Orcs → Brown Orcs
They are infinitely better than another elf race.

I think Blizzard has their work cut out making the Earthen appeal to a lot of players. They’re coming out of the gate similarly to Mechagnomes: there’s a laundry list of races players want, and this is the duplicate of a race with a niche playerbase.
That said, I think the Earthen could be fantastic. It will depend largely on how Blizzard writes them into the game. I recall a lot of people rolling their eyes when Nightborne were revealed to be coming in Legion. “Gee, more elves, just what wow needs… /s” In the end though, the Nightborne were absolutely awesome in game and both sides wanted to play as them.
I’d argue the biggest flaw with Earthen is that they’re being made playable before we’ve had a chance to interact with them.

If it helps though I think Brown Orcs are cool.
Shame though that the only Horde races I want to play are allied ones…don’t feel like leveling a character to 40 just to try it. ^^;
I mean, the NPCs were.
The playable version still leaves a lot to be desired.

We gotta be running out of dwarves to recolor/reskin right?
I mean Yea but really they should have been a customization skin for regular Orcs. I just don’t see their racials necessitating an allied race slot. Mag’har Orcs are just Orcs that weren’t corrupted with Fel. They still can work up a bloodrage, Still hardy, still commanding.

It’s boring. I like dwarves a lot too but I mean… it’s just normal dwarves that look like they have their racial on all the time. Lol

To be fair, I’d play a Frost Dwarf. I’d also play an Stormforged Iron Dwarf.

I know its not what a dwarf is, but earthen isnt a dwarf technically. So maybe i can get what i want.
But all i really want from them is a face that isnt a 50 year old farmer. And options for nice short beards and not ugly long ones.
Dwarves are ugly. Putting gems on them (that get hidden by armor) wont make them less awful to look at haha
I mean, for the Horde, the race is somewhat okay. After all, you get a new model at least. But just like with the Dracthyr, which the Horde got female humans from… once again, there’s completely missing a counterpart for the Alliance.
So, I don’t know, together with stuff like Mechagnomes and Kul Tirans, it’s slowly becoming more than questionable how the devs are treating the factions.
