This right here. I like dragon riding/dynamic flight. But it isn’t for everyone. And it makes the game inaccessible to some people. I definitely don’t like that one type of flying excludes people from the game. Having both is good.

They clearly are intelligent enough to create content FOR flight.
i have to assume then that fighting against old flight is just out of pure petulant spite.

Pretty sure you’ll be able to switch between the two (though probably only when you’re on the ground).
They specified that we would only gain old flight after we hit max level and I believe finish the story/quest chain.
While I’m capable of using Dragon Riding I’m not a fan of it and I know people who simply can’t use it for various reasons. There is no reason to block old style flying beyond trying to push out those who don’t like it.

From what I read, you will be able to switch between the two in 11.0.
Your mounts aren’t taken away from you. They will function as either static or dynamic (your choice) in old content. In War Within content they just swap to dragonriding until you hit max level in the new expansion and then you can choose to toggle again.
It’s not going anywhere.

It is nice that you trust Blizzard, I do not. They told us we would eventually get flying back but then they but it behind another pathfinder…This after giving you DR for virtually no effort at all. IONCO are favoring one set of players over another, its not a good look.
Understand me, I hate DR and would not use it if I could. Forcing DR and then putting static flight behind a pathfinding requirement has broken my trust for Blizzard and I will never again prepurchase their software.
If any future expansion doesn’t have static flight available at exactly the same time and level of effort as dynamic flight, then that expansion will not be purchased by me or my family.
We are done with this nonsense.

If you can’t handle ground mounts and flight paths while leveling and finishing the story campaign, I guess you are done then and it’s time to move on to something that will make you happy. Best of luck.
You’ll get traditional flying when you hit max level then you can toggle to have dragon riding or regular flying.
I believe dragon riding is at the very beginning for those who prefer to dragon fly.
But they never said prior to that that it wouldn’t be behind Pathfinder.
This time, they specifically said it’s after you hit max level.
No, they’re simply utilizing the actual gameplay feature, because it requires actually doing something more than hitting num lock and keeps you engaged.

I don’t know, I’m not Ion or a WoW dev.
I’m just repeating what they said at Blizz Con.
Best guess is that dynamic flying is more buttons, more paying attention, more immersive with the content, because it’s incorporated into quests.
I think while it’s not ideal for those with disabilities, getting it at max level without Pathfinder is still much better than what we have now.

What exactly is the criticism of dynamic flight? It’s better than regular flight in almost every conceivable way. There are still flight paths for those that wanna afk while traveling.
So, basically, old school.
I believe they chose the term dynamic because they said it’ll have a toggle for those that want TBC flying and those that are sticking with DF flying.
So then people got upset at the term TBC flying …if people would only calm down maybe breathe a little then think “oh right flying came out in the first expansion which was call The Burning Crusade (TBC)”
in short they are finally gonna do what they should have done at the start of DF
The answer is yes. There will be an option to enable one or the other. If it’s on, certain old mounts will be dynamic (Dragon Riding). If it’s off, it’ll be static (Old World Flying).
