I pref duo queue. I have seen people stand at bases at eots and not cap because they think it is a random bg. Id rather my friend who knows how to play heal me than a “player” who is boarderline AI from 1980s.

Duo queueing is pretty much a necessity to maintain sanity to get out of the low MMR range. Once in higher MMR ranges, duo queueing is nonintuitively not as necessary since people generally know what they should be doing.

But Shantarin didn’t post in any of them, they didn’t even know the mode existed before it was released as rated.
Did I, at any point, suggest that no one gave feedback about Duo while it was being tested?
It does feel kinda wrong for the mode to be called SOLO RBG while still allowing people to Duo queue into it.
For 75% of players, it is solo.
But yes, they should have had the big lettering as ‘Blitz’ in the UI, not ‘Solo’, it seems to confuse people.
Typical solo player mentality that duo queue is the reason you lost.
You know you also get duo queues on your team yes? You know duo queus aren’t exclusively on the enemy team and only in loses? This is just used an excuse on why you lost. Duo queue players also lose, it happens
I solo queued as a healer to 2200 MMR. It was painful not having a friend to heal as I was always at the mercy of the DPS RNG gods, but if you contribute more it shows

Um yeah actually. Day 1 of blitz i watched Venruki and Absterge both lose their first 3 games. They even lost games duo queueing together lol. Do any rank 1s still play blitz is the real question? Or did they all quit?
This is a very disingenuous comment at best. The original poster could have worded it a bit differently and it certainly feels like he is shifting blame because one can definitely climb solo, however, even the rank 1 blitz player Ace has stated repeatedly on his stream that queueing with his duo healer is broken and gives him a massive advantage by not only getting them faster queues but allowing them to carry far more often. It isn’t a guaranteed win by any stretch of the imagination but one only needs watch someone like bahj queue with his rank 1 healer, or the rank 1 rogue etc quite literally run at a point and 2v6 without dipping below 85% hp all game to see what is capable with a duo queue healer.
This is compounded by class choice as two good players playing S tier blitz specs can cap anything and carry far easier. Again I’ll gladly reiterate that duo queue isnt the end all be all but it is obscene to try and suggest it doesn’t provide a potentially massive advantage which is unequivocally does.
Either way, I’m just on that painful grind after losing 200 cr from a power outage and the first 2 days being unable to gain rating after hitting 1700 day 1 and only getting 11-1300 lobbies with literal 0 rating wins and huge rating deductions on losses because of the early morning off primetime hours I can play. To me these issues are more annoying than being able to duo queue but I’d be a fool not to acknowledge the potential and significant advantages.

You aren’t losing 1300 lobbies due to rank 1 duo’s, they aren’t in your lobbies or if they are, they aren’t for long.
It was literally added in Season 3 of Dragonflight as a perpetual brawl alongside the other weekly brawls. Were you hibernating all of Dragonflight or something?
Its really because the people who duo que are also typically more willing to play within the group correctly to win.
As opposed to actively ignoring all communication and running around.

It’s silly to think that he has a “massive advantage” by duo queuing because that assumes that the other team isn’t duo queuing. If nobody was allowed to duo queue, there’s no reason to think he won’t still be the top player. Every other healer duo he faces right now may also be paired with a dps/healer friend. If he wasn’t great at the game, he wouldn’t be number 1
I’m not denying that duo queuing is an advantage, clearly it is, but everyone in here saying that it breaks the game, is unfair, is ruining blitz etc are just looking for excuses on why they lose. They likely don’t even know if people on the other side are duo queuing, but they’ll scream and stomp their feet about it regardless because it’s an easy way to justify why they lost a game.
I’ve lost lots of games with my DPS friend, we were a duo queue. Maybe the other team had a duo as well, maybe they had two, maybe they had none. In the end it doesn’t matter, if it’s such a massive advantage for your team to have one, the other team might have the exact same advantage. No point worrying about it, just play to the best of your ability
The literal rank 1 player has said on his stream that duo queue is broken, unfair, and ruins the mode. In fact go on his stream, he is constantly playing and I 100% guarantee you he will say exactly what I stated in so many words. It’s unfair to those would be solo players as it gives duos a significant advantage. I’ll take his word for it beyond the obvious fact that it simply well… is obvious. You are trying to use the excuse of ‘oh bad player skill issue’ to dismiss a fairly in your face fact; duo que is an advantage and one that is even more broken depending on your goals. It also makes the first 20 placement games vastly easier which can save one a huge headache.
Oh and if you want to actually go for rank 1 you need a healer in your group for faster queues to begin with.

That’s an opinion, not a fact. The opinion of a person, be it the best or worst player in this game, is still just an opinion of one person. He’s not more right about it because he’s the best player, that’s just his own personal opinion.
He’s seeing this from one vantage point, the fact that he got rank 1 and duo queues. What he isn’t seeing, because it’s impossible as it hasn’t been implemented, is if there wasn’t duo queue would the game mode be better? Doubt it, way fewer healers queuing means long queue times, toxicity rising (I waited 35 minutes in queue to get this terrible team), friends not pulling other friends in who have never tried blitz, and people complaining about class balance being the deciding factor instead of people duo queuing. Or map balance. Or latency. Or whatever other excuse people would make
Does he make some valid points? Probably, he knows the game well enough to have an informed opinion. But that’s a very strong opinion to have when he doesn’t know what will happen if duo queue was removed, it’s pure speculation to say the game would be better.
I personally would play blitz 1/10th the amount I do right now if my friend didn’t get on to queue together. Makes the experience way more enjoyable having a friend I can yell at. If others don’t want to do it, well then just accept the duo queues you have on your team and move along

Whether you duo or not still leaves the aspect of coinflipping ascended satanic god mode demons onto your team.
There’s many games where not even duos can carry how awful some people are.
