The 4.3.4 patch just came out in Cataclysm Classic, and after testing the new protocol system a bit, there are a couple of things I’d like to share about my view on it:
The new protocol is tough and really cool, as long as you’re not doing it with pugs.
Some bosses become way more complicated than they already are because the protocol affix doesn’t respect the timing of the boss mechanics. If the slimes force you to spread out but the boss forces you to group up, it’s a guaranteed wipe. These timings should be adjusted so that the mechanics interact correctly without overlapping, but WITHOUT nerfing them.
There is no option to queue only for the 3 new dungeons as it was originally in Cataclysm. I think this is a huge mistake, and my proposal is that it be added, but only for heroic difficulty. In other words, if you queue for all 3 randomly, they won’t be protocol dungeons, but they will give valor. This way, you don’t discourage players from continuing to queue for protocol runs.
100% a nightmare if you actually go in at 353 ilvl. trash feels fine, bosses feel miserable and take 4 minutes in a group of 353 ilvl geared players. Nah, these feel tuned to like 365 +
The oozes had their health nerfed by nearly half sometime last night. The other issues need addressing of course, but as far as actually killing an ooze before it gets absorbed, there’s no excuse for failing that anymore
I’ve had them spawn close plenty of times, but never so close that they instantly get absorbed. Their health is low enough after the nerf that they should die before they even move, you get several seconds between when they can be attacked and when they actually start moving
This is a tough concept for some people, but someone can be both completely relaxed and still deliver factual information you don’t like or want to hear. Thoughts and prayers for your ego.
Bro literally calling someone ignorant just for reporting their personal findings and then claiming they have an ego. Take this block and get over yourself
No, I called your take on the situation being discussed ignorant. There’s a distinction if you set aside your emotional response and look at it logically. It’s like calling someone stupid vs saying they did something stupid. You’ll do the latter and all they’ll see is the former. And it would be their mistake as this has been yours
We were actually discussing that in guild yesterday with people not able to see certain things while others could. It seems like the vendor is separating by the actual stats on the gear and not whether you can actually physically equip them
