You know what I mean. The majority are just going to queue dungeon finder.
People seem to think I’m complaining about M+ or that I don’t want to go fast. I do want to go fast, but I also step back and see how this wouldn’t be enjoyable for the leisurely crowd that wants to just join a dungeon.
Any slight criticism of M+ instantly causing people to get defensive is bizarre.
Because hes stuck in the past. His entire post is “this isnt how I remember dungeons being 20 years ago.”
Like yeah dude, look around. Wrath came and went, and players got tired of prog’ing normal dungeons after running 10s of thousands of dungeons.
2 decades ago we also spent weeks at a time playing halo 3 forge, going bananas in cod lobbies, and trading pokemon with link cables. Times change. The days of clicking skills and drooling over a swifty macro are long gone.
We can all look back and talk about how great the back in the day was. But you cant use those experiences to judge gaming today. Its just not productive.
Why would you want to talk to strangers you only know and meet for this run to likely never see or hear from again? It’s like talking to people at an airport.
I have fun with multipulls. Throwing up my defensives and seeing how many mobs i can have beating on me at once is just innately fun. Slamming my Devestation button and breathing green fire on 30 guys, watching my dps shoot to 30 million as the tank, as my Fel Scarred demon surges blast them all?
It definitely is fun.
I don’t see what roses you desperately want to smell along the way.
I still say hi. I offer tank queues to DPS who are friendly if they wanna stay. I offer to explain the mechanics of Dawnbreaker and stuff. But i also pull 30 guys at once.
Honestly, I am okay with how dungeons are run now because it’s pretty much free carries so it works. I even got away doing only auto attacks in a dungeon, it’s fun to mess about.
If I want to take my time, I can do either a follower or now a delve. But I can see why it is disheartening to new players.
The new player experience is trash. But as Ive debated my heart out over, that is not the players fault. Blizz made it that way one decision at a time, and then didnt steer the ship while the culture changed amid emergent player behavior.
They outsourced teaching new players how to play to seasoned players and third party sources. Ironically, seasoned players dont want any of this responsibility.
I’ve been doing all of the above. Zerg pugs, running with guild, only auto attacking sometimes lol. This is the honeymoon, people should be enjoying it while it lasts.
Pretty soon it’s gonna be wiping 100 times in M+, literally, if you even make it that far before the group implodes.
After the first time, the only reason to go back is gear farm. I do wish people would talk more, but they dont. And they are typically over quickly. And the odds you see any again are about zero.
I am currently geared up to 580 with 571+ in every slot. I wont step in a normal or heroic on this character again unless I need to for future patches
Our society is divided, there is no common ground anymore and this shows not just in politics but also gaming, sports, fashion you name it.
It seems as if humanity completely lost it´s ability to accept a different view or lifestyle and the vocal minority is easy on the kick button if they dislike the way you play.
We had this discussion in another thread, a wife was kicked from a dungeon because she was learning the game. She was not kicked from a mythic dungeon, no it was a leveling dungeon.
Why can´t these people accept that there are those who play less hardcore and are new to WOW? It is as I said, people lost the ability to accept others breathing the same air as them.
