Dungeons have become a soulless, anti-social dopamine farm

heroics right now are on farm.

farming for a trinket or last piece of fill-in gear.

then it is farming for valorstones. stone/crest farming kind sucks…

It is new. If you’re going to point out WOTLK was run the same, don’t forget they didn’t have the seasonal gear treadmill in full swing yet. Even the most advanced players get reset after a season and have to get in the shallow end of the pool every few months.

who initiated the concept of the speed-run/timed run…
whoever did that…created the manic race that all wow
dungeons have become.
people have been conditioned.

First time? been saying this for years?

Nope, we’ve been doing this since vanilla, cuz.

Players have been speed running dungeons since vanilla. It has nothing to do with M+.

WOTLK was over a decade ago. I wasn’t going to say anything about it. But since Legion it’s been go go go

Good point. So it’s M+ that does it? I wasn’t going to say that.

“Dungeons have become a soulless, anti-social dopamine farm”

You just described the entire game since the release of WOTLK, how are you just now noticing this? lol

Do you really expect people to pull things one group at a time in trivial content?

Personally, I think dungeons should be harder AND more rewarding.

People deny it, but M+ seems to have completely changed how the average person views dungeons.

Yes speeds runs always existed, but they weren’t the norm

best part, sit down for a food buff, and you literally get booted for being “AFK” because they are already on to the second pull by the time you get the buff. I saw it happen in a group I was in, I voted not to kick the guy because he was clearly eating and boom he was gone… just wild.

I don’t know about you but as a raider I cannot wait for M+ to come out so I can watch the forums go ballistic over dungeons like Dawnbreaker.

You guys have my sympathies. Though I could be eating my words further into the Season or the next major patch.

This hasn’t changed since 2004. Big AOE pulls are fun. Crushing a dungeon in record time is fun.

How can content that has only been out for 2 weeks be trivial already?

Personally, i enjoy the dungeons the first time or two i run them - the real fun for me ( and the group i play with) is in optimizing and running the dungeons in a fast way - for us, thats fun.

I personally done believe any one person should define what “enjoyment” is for other players.

I also believe that if you pug via a LFG tool, you need to be prepared for the outcome that is random people you dont know running with you. Use the premade group finder tool instead of LFG if you want a smoother experience.

What in the nostalgia did I just read?

What kind of dais do you put old dungeons on, because it’s not like watching someone get destroyed in the locking gates in strat was peak design. Or being stunned for 5 years as a tank in shattered halls was neat. Or people missing the jump in BFD was solid play. Or the getting feared through the floor in steam vents, that’s was so cool. Or how about idiotic ranges pulling extra mobs in magisters terrace you could skip just before the arena boss EVERY run. Let’s move forward to WoD, where people played DDR in the runes at the start of shadowmoon. Legion, watching people die to touchy hands in neltharions lair?

Dungeons have sucked for awhile and have been spammy since forever. I remember pugging LBRS in vanilla and hustling with my groups. Farmed TBC dungeons all the time for gems, nightly. Speed runs every time. In wotlk I was in groups doing multi pack pulls before I was in naxx/OS.

This is so damn accurate. It’s actually really sad.
