Dungeon Spam?

So with RDF now a thing, is dungeon spam leveling quicker than just questing?

Probably depends on class and role, and your own personal playstyle.

Dungeon spamming was faster for me leveling my warrior in Classic Era, because I couldn’t be bothered to quest, and was always loath to do so.

From what I’ve seen, the queue times for lower levels are a fair bit longer than that at max-level, but it just came out, so we’ll see how that goes.

I’d be giving it a go on my 70 blood dk, so i’d be getting the tank queue.

Log in and give it a try. I checked on some 70s as well last night, and it said about 3-5 minutes queue as tank. Though, it’s hard to say how accurate that is. I queued on a level 30 as a tank, and it showed 85 seconds average wait time, but I sat for 4 minutes, before going to do something else.

You can do both but also Dungeon gear is vastly better which those upgrades will help with faster lvling.

Dungeon spam is certainly more fun than questing which is a rough slogfest.

The dungeon variety per level is limited at the moment via RDF. There’s no clear answer from Blizzard if this is a bug or intended. For example, at the moment, all of my level 70 characters only have access to Utgarde Keep. No other dungeon is allowed at my level bracket at this time even though technically there are other dungeons available for level 70 players.

Hopefully that is a bug and hopefully Blizzard will fix it but we’ll see. UK on spam isn’t bad for EXP per se but there are other slightly higher level dungeons that RDF should be able to teleport the group to that level 70+ players could still do. One dungeon out of all the others isn’t great as far as drops. And UK is pretty long as far as run distances go between each mob group.

Even with the Joyous Journeys buff (50% more EXP) at level 70, questing AND RDF is faster than solely just RDF at the moment. I’m seeing around 5-9 minute queues for healer roles (non-premade) and DPS queues vary on average depending on the time of day.

Quest while queued for RDF and get the benefits of both.

This is the way.

consensus on my server was just that quest / do thing while queued for dungeons…go back to spamming chat for raid groups with a macro while you quest / do other things.

Everyone is most likely gearing their mains for the raid drop Thursday. I would imagine people will eventually want to level alts after that. Then it should be good for dungeon leveling.

Yeah maybe.

I logged in on this guy earlier, and it said it was like a 4 minute average DPS queue, but it was more like 30 seconds.

Not bad at all, imo.

i’m no fan of RDF but 4 minutes isn’t even giving it a chance.

No, but to be fair, I didn’t really want to run any instances on that toon. I was just checking what the tank queue times were like. And it was after raid last night (the night that it came out).

As im questing my Shaman in WotLK content, it takes like 5-15 mins as DPS and instant queue as heals

been an average of 12 to 15 minutes today.
