Dungeon loot

I had a trouble with a group where they just “needed” because i needed fel armament since i’m aldor for rep and just to piss me off they started needing most probably they’re not aldor or at least not all of them, lost the other chat where they said it explicit but here’s some screenshots just a bad experience.

Cant post/callout peoples names, guilds, etc on the forums. Its an instant ban.

Also for the most part, if its BoE’s or turn in items the etiquette is greed only. If you do need a BoE you should equip it after winning to show you aren’t selling the item on the AH to make alot of gold.

didin’t knew so i guess i’ll just delete post, anyways they just did it to piss off, i need em cuz i’m aldor and i use the rep, so idk.

Maybe they were aldor, if you plan to need on something others could use, I usually ask if it’s cool to need. If any item is BoE then the rule of thumb across majority of groups is to select greed which that would be considered BoE type of item.

Nah just remove the image links.

People will use the Fel armaments for their alts or to trade 1 for 1 for the Arcane tomes, same with signets and marks. People are always doing 1 for 1 trades for them.

So to them that Fel armament is also a Arcane tome. Its just general Classic Etiquette to greed only on all BoE’s (unless you need it then need and equip it to show its now soulbound to you) and turn in items such as aldor/scryer etc. Needing on the Arm/Tome is considered a d-move especially after everyone else rolls greed for it. It’s the fastest way to get kicked from groups. Same with Blue-Quality gems that sometimes drop from chests and are up for rolls.

Well thanks for the advice i just considered it was fair cuz in all the grps i played everyone was ok on need on fel armaments, since this exact group was money hungry they just made this d-move to piss me off and that’s all.

I actually agree with the group… I’ve been in about 200 different TBC dungeons now and everyone rolled greed on Arms/Tomes. Thats just how it is at least on my server.

If they booted you from the group for needing on it I probably would do the same if you rolled need on it the 2nd time after I told you its greed only. Same with BoE’s (especially rare or epic quality) and you didn’t equipped it and waited for everyone to roll greed on it for you to roll need to auto win it.

Its Ninja looting in a nut shell.

it’s not BoP. you dont need it more than them.

They coulda’ve not booted me from the group i was the tank LOL, also i said to them if they didn’t like me needing the arms just get another tank, since getting a tank is not kinda easy they shoulda’ve just thanked me in my opinion.

So you pulled an ultimatum… those usually ever go well for future reference.

No not at all. Lets use an example.

Lets say your in a Mechnar Group and Blinkstrike (~5000g BoE on the AH) drops off of tash, everyone rolls greed but you wait and roll need on it. If you are a rogue and you rolled need people would be like ok ya its Rogue BiS just equip it and were all good. If you don’t equip it thats totally a D move and is ninja looting, people will 100% boot you and report you.

If you are any other class other than a rogue its truly ninja looting and 100% not ok (I mean if you said oops I misclicked everyone re-roll thats one thing stuff happens) and people will 100% kick you from the group, report you, and probably spam in LFG/Trade chat that you are a ninja looter and ninja’ed Blinkstrike and you will probably be blacklisted on the server my most people and the community. (Also I’ve seen some people on PvP servers say to the other faction X person ninja looted and they will happily camp your corpse and take turns).

Where it was a green item like Fel Armaments the group would say ok, but its greed only for that item and if you did it a second time then they would boot you.

But 100% you are in the wrong to need on the Arm/Tomes unless the group says at the start Need only rolls on those items.

That’s not even a good example because even if it’s BiS drop you can replace a dps but it’s harder to find a Tank or a Healer mid dungeon.

People would rather wait than keep a ninja looter in the group. Lets say you have 1 hunter in the group waiting for a Beast Lord piece to drop, they now have to be cautious because a ninja looter will roll need on it just to vendor it or DE it. Same with any other boss loot.

99% of players would rather wait for a tank/heal/dps than risk having a ninja looter ninja an item that they need when that ninja looter likely can’t even equip it. (ie someone who cant use plate rolling need on plate drops).

Just because you’re a tank or healer doesn’t mean you’re more important than another player.

Yes you are actually.

All rep items are greed only dude. Im scryer and yeh it hurts seeing ppl get arcane tomes knowing they arent scryer but it is what it is
