Dungeon finder, out of touch with the community

and the 6 months or so it was available in original wrath i made exponentially more friends during that 6 month period than all of Vanilla and TBC classic, that speaks volumes.

Yeah, I think it meant you weren’t socializing with people without a program doing it for you, which we covered as the problem.

yes, we also covered that the current way people behave in TBCC with the absolute dependency on third party addons to there being little to 0 interaction with in TBCC dungeons also showcases your arguments are invalid.

If your experience were the norm socialization would have exploded after LFD and nobody would have done anything before that. I have no idea how all of those people played in 25/40 man raids together for years before a program shoved them together.

This has absolutely zero to do with dungeon finder being present or not. Today’s TBC group finding experience is absolutely terrible, and meeting people won’t stop with Dungeon Finder. Stop trying to invalidate other people’s opinions by saying “you bad social thing”.

The people with the absolute dependency on third party add-ons are the ones not going the social route as explained, and are therefore absolutely dependent on a third party add-on.

You understand that groups form outside of that, right?

The problem is you think you’re cool because you think “dungeon finder bad”. And we didn’t cover anything as the problem, stop thinking you’re special and better for posing as a hardcore player.

I think socializing not exploding is more a societal thing people just want to play their game and do their thing, which is also showcased on vanilla and TBC classic, the level of actual socializing outside of spamming “inv” like a drone to a bulletin board is not even remotely close to that of 2004-2007, if you were there back then and played classic extensively, you would know this, alas you haven’t.

you understand on a populated server it’s literally impossible to track the LFG channel right? and 98% of groups are formed through Bullet-board, right?

I play on a populated server and this is true only for a small part of the content. Good luck finding a group for low level dungeons without spending at least one hour.

Nobody thinks they are cool, we are talking in the forums of a decade old MMO.

What I think is that this path has been traveled before, and why you think it will end up different this time around is questionable.

What I am saying is that there are alternatives to third party dungeon queueing in this Massively Multiplayer game. I agree that what you are trying to do it frustrating and not fun. Please stop pretending that it is your only (or the intended) option.

There’s nothing wrong with dungeon finder. Looking for raid is what ruined the game. With dungeon finder only you will still have to find a guild or a raid group to experience the raids.

I would love not to watch WoW burn to the ground in the name of convenience again.

well they arent providing any alternatives so thats irrelevant.

I’m glad if you’ve managed to create relationships while looking for groups as dps somehow. For a lot of us it’s been nothing short of miserable and toxic. When I do manage to get into groups after spending an hour + of being ignored, nobody says a word the entire instance. Unless it’s to be toxic for a few minutes. I haven’t bothered to play at all for a few weeks now because spending several hours in Shatt while I wait to be accepted into a group just isn’t the environment I was looking for. I was, however, super excited to play Wrath until todays announcement now I’m not so certain I’ll play it at all…

and it literally is the only option on my server to find a group, as i said LFG channel if you drag it out and make it as large as possible every split second there will be a new entire block of text, impossible to find.

RDF had nothing to do with that, i believe you are referring to raid finder, thats not this expansion.

Ah, this is the thread I was hoping to see when I heard there wouldn’t be a dungeon finder in Wrath Classic!

You all realize that retail is still a thing, right? It is just in comparison to what it used to be that nobody plays it. You can queue to your heart’s content over there, and stop whining and trying to ruin classic.

It seems like you prefer something else that already exists. It is possible that this isn’t the game for you, and that is ok.

They even have fox people.

Why would we want the path to end up differently? This section of the path is widely regarded as THE BEST part of the whole path. Why mess with what was successful?

Remember in vanilla when you folks were all “NO CHANGES NO CHANGES REEE”? Well now the shoe is on the other foot.
