Dungeon finder, out of touch with the community

RDF has nothing to do with what any one was trying to get away from. Also any one that as a non prio’d DPS that had to sit through bulletin board all of TBC will understand why

Not to mention the boosting issues, that could be heavily hamstrung by a dungeon finder.

My new favorite (sarcasm) I’ve seen is: “3 spots left for strat boost AFK ONLY NO LOOT 200g 5 runs”

This can’t be better for the community.

Yeah on my server you have quite literally scroll past 50+ Boost ads ( LFG Channel is not even readable with out a third party addon ) – but you know this tight knit community stuff and loving to travel to dungeons and engage with world pvp on these 99:1 faction balanced servers (according to the Classic dev team) is so thriving

I quite simply will not be playing WotLK Classic without dungeon finder. I came back to TBC Classic 2 weeks ago to level alts and prep professions, but this has drained all of my motivation to play entirely.

If this is Blizzard “hearing their community loud and clear”, then I’m afraid Blizzard has a hearing problem. Classic and TBCC have shown the community what a godsend the LFD tool has been.

i already rerolled during tbc because my classic server was always dead quiet outside of a few prime time hours and i play at odd times due to random schedules. i was looking forward to wotlk dungeon finder so that i could queue at late night/early morning times and still do dungeons but i guess not now.

No LFD is what killed TBC population. During the lifetime of the expansion getting dungeons became a unbearably long process. Its 2022 we dont have the time to sit around for hours waiting for a spot in a dungeon that lasts 30 mins.

So everyone should suffer because you think it shouldn’t be in the game? Guess what it was added in Wrath, and for this to be Wrath classic it should be in Wrath. You know what else was in Wrath dual spec, should we cut that out as well?

How so? Even once it was originally added I still made groups and walked there on occasions. I still saw people manually making groups as they wanted certain gear from certain dungeons. What you have said through all of your responses on this thread is you don’t want it so no one should. Enough people want it so it should be added as it was part of wrath.

Its alright not having LFD for content creators, twitch streamers, and Boost sellers who have 8 hours a day to play. But for the average players who has maybe 2 hours it becomes stressful trying to find a dungeon group in 10 mins of logging on.

Even then, when they finish the dungeon they disband without saying anything and your back to square one trying to find another group.

This is one of the strangest decisions I’ve seen made recently regarding Classic. What is immersive or exciting about sitting around calling out in chat trying to find a group to do a dungeon with? Not everyone is in an active guild and even active guild members are not on all the time. And even then not all of them will want to do a particular dungeon. The dungeon finder system at least gave people an increased chance to link up with others relatively smoothly.

What % of players actually wants it not to happen? And why?

RDF seems do not suit for the early phase of Wotlk.
It may be exploited for dungeon boost/farm runs.

They just want you to buy more boosts and transfers.

Its disgusting.

Why do people expect Blizzard just to steer the Titanic straight into the iceberg all over again?

They have a limited chance to retain a population of people who quit playing retail, and a large issue with what retail became was queueing for dungeons with randoms.

If they do nothing but go down their original path they’d just end up in the same place, with retail’s player base, which they already have. When would you have them try to fix what went wrong?

This had very little to do with why I left the game 2 years ago. Very, very little. In fact, this was probably the only feature that made the game worth playing. I didn’t have to FB message members of the community to ask if they want to go do this, oh they’re busy? Let’s message another… oh, they’re busy too? Oh, all well right ? Oh, let’s /shout in Dalaran for a run ! Hunter LFG iLevel 134! No takers? Guess I don’t do that today? whatever man. It’s a garbage change.

it’s largely accepted that RDF was not the iceberg that sunk the ship, only the small stepping stone, which alone is still great, there is still a way to implement this stepping stone but dont actually commit to the rest of the changes in later expansions (cataclysm), and if you’ve tried to find a group as a dps in TBCC and experienced the bulletin board on a populated server you’d know why the small stepping stone of RDF is sorely needed.

I have tried to find a group as DPS in TBCC. It helps to build relationships with the people you play with, this is supposed to be a social game, not a single player RPG with a poor dungeon queueing simulation tacked on to it.

Failing any of that, make a tank. Reaction to the supply and demand is what should happen, not whining for a queue feature to fix it for you only to leave you waiting for an hour+ wait anyway because the tank/dps ratio is just as screwed up as it was to begin with.

that is not at all close to what is happening to TBCC, iv’e also found more friends through RDF. You must be a booster alt trying to salvage your income, literally the only explanation.

Four max level toons, not one a mage or paladin. Making more lasting relationships in RDF would only have been possible in retail, as it does not exist in classic.

Not meeting anyone outside of RDF in retail is pretty much the argument for why it is bad.

There is 0 socializing and friend making in scanning the Bulletin Board to spamming “inv” to people largely being ignored or told sorry full for hours, you are just wrong, plain and simple.

You are continuously failing to understand that you are doing it wrong. Stop trying to have a computer solve your problem. As you said, it does not work. Go meet people, be nice to them, and then talk to them again. Repeat.
