I think a mercy, yet punish system works. 1st kick in a set period of time, game assumes you were unfairly kicked for a dumb reason, or maybe you DCed out of your control, and you can reque. 2nd kick in a set period of time, 10 mins. Generally enough time to cool off and rethink your mood. 3rd, 30 mins. Clearly, your behavior is deliberate. And it can be 30, or ramp to 40, 50, and finally 60 as the kicks mount.
I think this system both punishes trolls and griefers, and allows honest people some leniency.
Dungeon deserter needs to remain a thing , that said there needs to be some tweaks to it in the instance of the vote kick being abused and not a deserved removal.
This makes it preferable to be kicked several times before you hit the same downside as simply leaving. It shouldn’t ever be preferable to get kicked than to manually drop the group, that encourages bad behavior.
If you have a better solution that stops random kicks without having complicated rules, removing too much player agency, or requiring a bunch of GM work, then provide it through support in-game. This topic on the forums usually devolves into whether OP deserves whatever kicks they received.
I know the current system sucks, but it’s in place for very good reasons. Removing it without providing a replacement is a no-go.
no one said ‘remove the system’…he said remove the timeout…which literally does nothing.
if I want to troll dungeons I can do it…get a timeout…swap alts…do it again…swap alts…do it again… lol
Ive got enough characters to never even see a real timeout if I were trolling dungeons…
We need changes to improve this vote kick that is easy to abuse innocent players
I mean we literally have them admitting they do it around this forum and proud of it…
It’s just kicking, there doesn’t need to be any reason at all for me to vote kick you. If I don’t like the way your character looks, your name etc… I’ll just vote kick you as that is entirely within the rules of the game for me to do, so technically it’s not trolling as it’s a legitimate use of the in game feature. Sometimes I just randomly vote kick people in the group to see if it even goes through and 99% of the time it does, it’s not my fault blizzard decided to add the debuff to the entire run instead of just leaving at the start.
I mean shoot… if you have a bad transmog, and the majority decided to kick you, it’s fair and justified. You’ll get 30 minutes to change up the mog for the next run, think about it that way.
You’d have to start using logic for that to be the case though.
When people are kicked from a group, they get the dungeon deserter because of how it was abused when LFD was introduced all the way back during Wrath. You not understanding something which has been commonplace knowledge for 16 years … Sorry to tell you but ignorance ain’t logic. Especially when you also say stuff like this:
The system is stopping you. When you queue as a premade, you no longer need a simple majority but a super majority. Basically you need the non-premade player that you are queuing with to agree with the vote kick. Making it a majority vote with another player, one that you wouldn’t have any direct influence over.
You don’t even understand the system you somehow somewhat is supposed to have a logical take on… when you don’t know common knowledge that’s 16 years old, or how the thing actually works to begin with.
You are just as much of a troll as the OP. That’s all there is to it.
