But context is everything. People are opposed to hookers and drug dealers because of the collateral damage they do in the form of STDs and thefts. What damage is a booster doing? They’re pulling players out of the dungeon queue that I never wanted to run with anyway. That seems like a win-win to me.
he operates under the faulty premise that people that choose to boost alts are doing so against their wishes, or do so reluctantly. we have have different preferences and attitudes when it comes to leveling. some people love leveling alts, others despise it.
i despise leveling. i only took a hunter so i can just get to 60 asap. i refuse to make any alts because even boosting it too much of a bore to me. but i’m not going to try to stop other people from doing things they enjoy because i require…group mates? thats controlling and selfish.
Wait, seriously? He really thinks, “You think you do but you don’t?”
If so, I hope you understand that is rare and specific to him. Most no Changers and anti boosters aren’t that naive, especially given our recent experience with being told exactly that.
I’m actually kind of bored of boosting. Have a 43 druid and 46 lock, perfect for AFKing in mara, but you know what? I think I’d rather just play.
Actually the opposite argument could be made as well. One could claim that the more populated servers tend to attract those more interested in raiding and keeping up with the crowd. Thus smaller servers would actually have more alt levellers and “legit” groupers.
I.e. the effects of the composition of the crowd could overwhelm the effects of the size.
Certainly possible. Motivations are of course unique to the individual, as is how much pressures affect their decision making process.
Regardless, a lot of people for whatever reason do want to boost.
I notice you’re not in a guild.
Really doesn’t matter. Despising leveling doesn’t mean you’re allowed to skip it. Leveling being a grind is supposed to be a barrier between everyone having 100 alts.
Doing it fast is not skipping it. Especially since they’re doing something that is allowed.
No there’s a big difference- in retail you have two options, either send a big chunk of cash legally to Blizz to get an instant almost max level, or do it yourself with xp boosts in a few days.
In Classic though, your options are massively different and better and more hardcore. Either send a large chunk of cash illegally to the botting sites Blizz is doing nothing to ban because they’re set up by Blizz to get an instant max level or have someone level your char when you’re not around, or sit around doing nothing while paying with gold you made either legit or by paying farmers to have players or bot sites boost you through dungeons.
Completely different.
Oh, right, also in retail of course you can join casual, low skill, filthy retail LFD to do ez mode dungeons and level up yourself legit. But in glorious Klassic you can sit around spamming LFG channel for a group for hours while nobody bites because everyone else would rather get boosted than have to play this excellent game themselves.
I am now, but it’s not a leveling guild and I don’t like getting run through stuff.
Why pay tp play a game you’re not going to play?
So you saying boost is for the greater good of the game, because you despise leveling or you just not good enough. Boost is wrong no matter how you and others try to justify it. you talking alts like they are the most important pieces in this game, there are lots of players like me that come from retail to try and experience classic and there are lots of new players too. we can not even get a normal group for deadmines unless do what you and others did buy gold from gold sellers and pay for boosts. Well honest players, because this is a game after all it does nothing significant to your real life will not do that type of exploiting , but by all means you and others keep doing what you doing but dont cry wolf when blizzard decides to do something about it like they did in the past.
You are not conversing, all you do is dissect peoples posts and show you have no human soul.
That right there explains why you don’t understand the problem.
con·verse1
verb
gerund or present participle: conversing
/kənˈvərs/
- engage in conversation
How is she not conversing?
We should fight this by offering free dungeon runs.
Now there’s something I can get behind
I’ve seen a lot of free boosts/runs advertised on my server.
I am conversing.
Well, everything people are saying needs to be addressed. Analyzing what you’re trying to say is still having a conversation. I’m asking you tough questions and presenting the alternative routes that reach the same goals as Paid Dungeon Boosts do, so it really makes me wonder if the concerns presented are genuine or not. If they are, you should have no problem speaking on them instead of deflecting the conversatoin.
Insults are not arguments. And, generally a sign of somebody losing the argument. Try again.
Well, if there are “lots” of players like yourself (as you say), why can’t you all group, together for a Normal Deadmines? Probably the easiest Dungeon to form a Group (for Alliance).
I run two accounts for this very reason.
A mage on each to help level up alts to do professions mainly.
I always run them for free as it helps my alt.
I support finding a way to severely nerf or get rid of boosts.
