Dual wield Frost DK Tank

Is it viable to run dungeons on wotlk ?

Im sure you can if you’re geared enough. Just blood DK is far more superior. Do what makes you happy beloved

I was going to do that to train my weapon skill.

For heroics yes it’s viable, optimal is another issue.

You get a lot more aggro generation, at the cost of survivability.

So if your healer is having 0 issue keeping you up, its perfectly acceptable.

wotlk dungeons are so easy that nothing really matters. You can have warlock tank things

Im full brutal geared

Go for it loved one howling blast go burrrr

Yes it’s fine. The only time Blood really starts taking away is in Hardmode/Heroic raids

No, i dw frost tanked arthas on hardmode back in the day, without amazing outstanding gear. Its perfectly viable

Absolutely.

Dual wield of 2H shouldn’t really be of much concern for PVE content, just use whichever weapon(s) you may have access to that are better.

There’s a lot of great info there!

Sure you did

Frost is not only viable, it’s the meta right now as I said it would be on the wowhead guide Morbito wrote. Glad he finally wrote a guide, but I disagree on some of his points still.

Nothing in T7 hits hard enough where Blood is a must.
Frost has better innate damage reduction than Blood.
Frost has better threat, DPS, and flexibility than Blood.

The only thing that makes Blood better is Will of the Necropolis for fights where being 1 shot is a problem. People always talk about Blood healing, but the difference in Death Strike is 15% for Blood versus 10% for Frost. A negligible difference.

The other option is Blood DW. I do this on fights like 3D Sarth, Malygos, Maexxna, and Patchwerk mostly only because it makes it a little easier for people to learn the fights, but next week I’ll be going Frost full-time.

For Frost I use:

For Blood DW I use:

These are to MT btw. I take Nerves of Cold Steel as Blood since hit rating is a little low atm, but that can be swapped later.

Frost DK and Blood DK tank are memes in P1 unless you’re being boomers in Naxx.

I was a Frost tank back in the day (probably 2h, though…) Every now and then a healer would complain. Threat wasn’t an issue… they just had to do a bit more work to keep me up since I wasn’t self-healing as much as a Blood tank.

Toward the end of WotLK, my buddy was soloing heroics with his Blood DK.

its wrath, go frost pres get def capped and go for it
