50g is nothing in tbcc. 20 minutes of farming can easily yield 50g if you actually know what you are doing.

He can change specs for up to 50g each time at his class trainer. There is an addon that will auto fill actionbars and talents to a presaved selection after respecing. Him refusing to use it does not mean he doesn’t have the option to use it.
The option already exists, if he isn’t willing to use it, then he doesn’t want dual spec as badly as he thought, or it just boils down to “my gold bro” and he doesn’t want to spend 50g every time.
We are so far removed from OG TBC at this point I honestly dont think it matters anymore. I dont see a major drop in population either way.

But an addon is available that gives the option to basically spec swap at your trainer when you pay the respec fee.
The option you want is already available.
