Dual spec please

Tank and healer shortages will always exist. The question is whether the changes made improve the wait times and by how much. If there was data from blizzard we would know if the queue times are less, more, or the same for retail players and classic players.

For what it’s worth, Zipzo is on an alliance pve megaserver. I know this because I am also on this server but I’m horde. We are having two completely different experiences and it’s a pretty good indicator that he/she has no frame of reference, and wouldn’t see the problem.

If I were on Mankrik, I wouldn’t see the problem either. If my 15 year old guild could transfer for free to Mankrik, I wouldn’t see the problem, but I would still support those who were experiencing it.

/shrug I’m alliance on pagle and I can see the problem, it must be massively worse on the bad faction and/or a small realm.

Just checked and we’re all on Atiesh. So yeah I see why she doesn’t see the problem. It’s all relative. I see people complaining about the wait times and I understand why. But I transferred from Bloodsail and Atiesh is like heaven compared to that server. Even so I worry that after I spent $125 to transfer to Atiesh something might happen to us horde and there will be a downward spiral that leaves me stuck all over again on a server with too low a pop to be playable as an MMO.

No idea what it’s like now, but at the start of shadowlands I had zero problems finding tanks for mythic 0s week1 or m+'s thereafter. Usually a tank would apply within 2-3 minutes to my LFG party (i only ever made my own ones).

I did many m+'s for pvp gear.

I mean, he/she is literally playing a different game (on a megaserver) than people who aren’t on megaservers. To him/her the game is totally fine, because he/she hasn’t experienced a shortage of players to make dual spec a benefit.

Kind of the end of the conversation with him/her, I can understand how he/she would have his/her perspective.

As horde on the same server, I can search for hours (or days) to find groups for specific dungeons as DPS, it took me 2 weeks to get enough SHH groups to get exalted with Thrallmar for my sword on my warlock. I logged into Mankrik for 5 minutes and I had to up the buffer in my chat window to filter through all of the available groups.

I encourage all further discussion points to try to help Zipzo understand that his/her experience does not echo ours, and thus the disagreement on how valid the issues are, or how to solve them.

I still don’t believe changing the design of the game because you choose to play on a server that has trouble finding groups to be appropriate either.

I chose atiesh on day 1 of Classic release, I wouldn’t consider it a choice of mine to play on a dead server, as it has slowly shifted over the past 2 years from being 55/45, 60/40, all the way now to 82/18. If Blizzard wants to find alternative methods to raise server population and therefore flood us with players strong in their role integrity (tanks/healers) then I wouldn’t feel the need for dual spec.

Also since you brought it up, i could spec holy instead of shadow (my main pvp spec) and heal dungeons for fun whenever. Evetually i realized i was enjoying holy enough that I also wanted to try arenas with it.

A good type of synergy that encouraged more cross-participation between aspects of the game.

A pity other aspects of shadowlands let it down. Like the gear grind, borrowed power systems etc. I think thats the problem, these poorer aspects of retail let the game down and people all just quit.

It is and was very much loved by everyone in Wrath when it was released. Healers where finally able to have DPS specs for farming and daily quest without having to spend their hard earned gold for respecing. Raiders where happy to have the ability to just swap specs based on what the raid needed. People loved it…

BTW, Yes WoTLK was the peak for players. After Cata was released the numbers slowly dropped off.

bump for dual spec, tbc needs it

There is countless people in this forum thread all for Dual Spec, but only like 2 maybe 3 people constantly at odds with everyone saying it doesn’t need it… Its clear players want it and only a very small minded minority doesn’t…

At least one of them has a legitimate lack of perspective for their argument, which to my mind excuses their interpretation of the situation. Doesn’t mean I agree, just means that we haven’t been able to express our plight well enough.

Thats a massive understatement if I ever saw one.
