Again. Does a DPS spec player need to do this for efficiency? Nope.
You need to stop conflating wanting to be efficient when you set aside time to farm and being anti social. It’s getting old.

If you want to be efficient while farming than respec
How is that efficient with the current setup? It costs 100G to spec back and forth. Any gains made farming are cut by the high gold cost of respeccing. This is only a burden for Healers and to some extent Tanks.
I don’t need Dual spec but I’d like a lower Gold cap number on respecs and a faster decay of that cap.
They could just lower the cap for respecs at something like 5g instead of 50g instead of adding a new functionality that takes time to re-develop (we don’t know how it was done so maybe there needs to be a lot more changes behind the scenes to enable dual-spec)
I tank heroics for my buddies but i want to pvp when theyre not around. Going into bgs as prot sucks.
That sucks, you should respec from prot if doing BGs as prot sucks
Not gonna respec multiple times a day, its too costly.
Than do BGs as prot and fulfill a role in the Bg that benefits the team? Idk what to tell you besides you probably shouldn’t be respecing multiple times a day.
I don’t understand how your situation is any different than mine… doing BGs as combat swords vs. prep hemo swords is completely different, one is optimal for PvP and the other is optimal for PvE.
Maybe if you don’t like playing a game where working with other people improves your problems, TBC isn’t for you?
You can still kill people as combat, and farm, and pve.
You can still kill people as prot, and farm, and PvE.
Just not as efficiently as a pure dps class… because you are a tank…
So both of us can participate in content we aren’t optimized for is what you are saying?
You love this argument when it’s actually specious. You keep conflating wanting to be efficient farming (which any DPS can do) with not wanting to socialize. So to you it’s fine for a DPS spec to be “anti social” and go out farming solo but for healers it’s not? What a joke.
I still haven’t heard any good argument why it would kill the game for respec costs to be lowered and/or the decay rate to be increased other than “herp, derp it wasn’t in the game back in the day”.
I said dps should group with healers or tanks to speed things up.
You are the one equating being dps with being anti social. So…by wanting to respec to dps to you are saying to don’t want to be social?
Which is fine? But again, maybe TBC isn’t the game you actually want to play.
Nobody “groups up” for farming because then you have to split the rewards with them and it ends up being way lower gold/hr.
And it speeds things up so you actually kill more mobs and complete more objectives so…
Also, you had to share? That’s terrible.
Hey zoot, log onto your level 70 tank or healer. Might be able to give you some tips since it sounds like you’re having a hard time bud
You chose to heal, you get your max efficiency in groups, have an easy time getting into groups content compared to dps who can have to wait for hours if they don’t know tanks and healers to do group content.
Opportunity cost of being a healer is your solo play is weaker, the benefit of being a healer is your downtime for group content is much lower than a dps.
Opportunity costs in an mmoRPG is not a bad thing, and if you don’t want to pay the Opportunity cost you can pay to respec. You have options, you not liking the options the game is DESIGNED to give you does not mean the game is bad, it means you need to find a solution in game with how the game is designed. My guild has a donation pool for our healers and tanks to respec to help offset the gold cost. Not all of our tanks and healers want to constantly respec, but we have pooled together as a community to help them if they so chose. A social solution for a social game.
You on the other hand want the game changed to cater to you not wanting to farm or talk to people. I grouped with a healer when I did my negrand quests, and a tank, and we had a guy following us skinning because we were not skimmers.
I know it may seem hard to talk to people on the internet, but as long as your not a jerk to other people, it’s less likely they will be a jerk to you.
Dual spec is not a needed solution and it harms multiple core aspects of tbc. You have options to offset the Opportunity cost of being a tank or healer that wants to do other gameplay. You not liking them if your own fault, and just means this might not be the game for you if it feels like a deal breaker for you to not have dual spec. I personally am leveling a second hunter for pvp. Because that is one of the solutions to not need to respec for pvp and pve constantly.
Except it doesn’t really speed things up when farming at 70.
a) You cut your gains in half.
b) You risk losing a valuable BoE or pattern.
c) Farming low level mobs at 70 for a DPS doesn’t require a healer at all.
d) The only Tank that may be worth it to group with would be a Prot Pally and even then it wouldn’t trump the above issues.
You’re assuming that 2 people always equals 2x faster and there’s always 2x more mobs to kill
lmao
Hey enigmuh log out from the forum. It sounds like you’re having a hard time because people don’t agree with you.
