Folks assume Blizzard is omniscient and thoughtful when they do what they want, then quickly shifts to incompetent and stupid when they don’t do what they want.
So plan raid days, pvp days, exc. You don’t have to plan every little detail, just the general activity.
Are you going to raid? Raid spec.
Are you going to pvp? Pvp spec
Are you going to pve/farm exc? Then use that spec. Usually your pvp or raid spec will work here unless it’s a specialized farm like the paladin aoe farming spec.
I mean sure I guess to a certain degree It’s not so specifically though literally villing planning is generally this.
Your Guild tells you OK guys were waiting on this day on this day make sure you have these consumables that’s the extent of it.
And that’s all you should have to pre plan realistically
Okay so dont plan anything and just do one form of content in an off spec. Or find some middle ground spec that lets you do both. Then save your spec swap for the days you got lined up for something specific.
Typical comment from someone whose main is a solely dps class that doesn’t tank or heal. If I spec for dps then I can’t heal dungeons. That’s why dual spec would increase the number of tanks and healers in lfg chat
Don’t all Hunter specs offer some type of party or raid perks?
Or spec for dps and don’t heal or tank. That’s the choice I made for my druid. When I see lf 1 more healer for x dungeon I don’t go even though I like to heal. I never respec. That makes the game less fun for me and less fun for the people who can’t find a healer so the group disbands. That’s not good for an MMO especially one like TBC that depends so much on dungeons for rep grinds and attunements.
Role shortages are inherent to the genre and not something dual specs were designed to tackle. There would still be role shortages after dual specs are implemented.
I mean, you can change specs, or even GROUP to farm.
Since you claim you are a healer, you can even pvp in a healer spec with proper pvp healer gear
You can level a second character to do your pvp with
Dozens of options have been provided for you as solutions to your “problem”
All you do is cry “NO I WANT DUAL SPEC!” instead of even trying to use one of the solutions you have been given.
The game has solutions to your “problem” you demanding the game change because you refuse to use any of the solutions given.
I never said it was going to fix it But you can’t deny it certainly will help it just by definition.
If you have the option to have an offspec at your disposal you are more likely To use a secondary speck of your class.
For example if you can’t find a tank and your class can’t take guess what you’re more likely to make your off spek a tank.
It will help your guilds buddie groups and the individual who cant make up his mind on any given day sure - it doesnt help the server or community at large - and in the ‘take your metacine’ world we live in it will probably end up being a detriment to certain players.
Youre talking to the wrong guy. I spent half of my time in vanilla and original tbc healing pugs with hunter and lock pets tanking and tanking pugs with elemental shamans/boomkins healing. I leveled holy on my priest main and I simply healed in both pve and pvp. If I pvp’d on my feral tank I just went with that.
Even in Wrath I never respecced to farm mats. Farming on a dps (or with a dps spec) is more efficient but its not impossible by any stretch. I respecced when my guild needed a healer but I wanted to go on my druid yet my druid was feral so thats when I would swap.
People being logged in and playing helps the community, dual spec helps keep logged in.
Yep, it’s not a coincidence most of the people opposed to dual spec happen to be playing a class/spec that doesn’t benefit from it as much as someone who wants to play a tank/healer.
It’s easy to say well just go farm some gold when A) you can farm gold easily in any spec B) you don’t have nearly as much motivation to use another spec in the first place.
There would still be role shortages after dual specs are implemented.
Back to the empty argument that dual spec won’t fix the problem. It will make it easier to find a tank or healer but there will still be shortages. Making the problem less intense is still good for the game even if it doesn’t fix it.
Since you claim you are a healer, you can even pvp in a healer spec with proper pvp healer gear
You can do anything in the game. You can pvp without choosing any talents at all and do it without any gear. But is it fun? I don’t pvp with my healer because it’s not fun in a raid healing spec. What’s fun for you isn’t fun for a lot of people. Look at the low participation pvp rate in BC. But then you claim to be the greatest hunter in the game, not a healer. You clearly clueless about that.
it doesnt help the server or community at large
That denies the claim made by many posting here that they would tank or heal pugs if there was dual spec. I like pugs and I heal them all the time with my priest. But I won’t do it on my druid. I did in wrath when dual spec came out.

Literally had this happen last night in game, some one was going to tank but they didn’t want to respec right before a raid(since they would have immediately had to respec back).

I got dual spec as soon as it was offered on my priest but never bothered to get it on my hunter.
This boils down to you ignoring all possible in game solutions go your problem and demanding the game change FOR YOU.
I got dual spec as soon as it was offered on my priest but never bothered to get it on my hunter.
I was forced by my guild to get dual spec on my hunter in wotlk or to find another guild.
But hay, you clearly can’t use ANY of the in game solutions and the game must change FOR YOU right?
