Dual Spec.. please?

The current system (no dual spec) just promotes raid-logging, especially for healers & tanks.

Also before Fasc inevitably responds with a post full of tripe about how I’m wrong about Feral gameplay, let’s give the audience a primer on the valley that separates mine and his performance.

Phase 1 content rank (Grull/Mags) UTD:

But I await his no doubt riveting novel on how my input on feral is somehow incoherent and not valid.

Don’t really care.

“You shouldn’t have worn that dress Fasc”

That’s still a PvE spec when you spend most of your time DPSing in Cat and instead of playing a dual role of Cat and Bear, you play a dual role of PvE Cat and PvP Cat… because Feral uniquely has so many pointless talents to avoid if you aren’t doing something like Bear or PvP.

This is hilarious levels of terrible trolling.

“Akshully, I have Nature’s Grasp so I’m not a PvE spec… even though I have all the PvE things I need for Cat DPS…”

This is true.

No you didn’t. You shifted some of the freebie flex points that every standard PvE Feral build has access to. You aren’t special because you opted for these flex points over those flex points when PvE Feral can get everything it needs without even being lvl70. We have filler points, but unlike other classes, we get to toss them into a lot more options.

Which literally means you swapped baked-in optimized Bear for baked-in optimized Feral PvP. LOL

Top parses often don’t even have FB at all since it is worse than Rip and only marginally better than Shred while costing combo points. Only if you happen to still be rocking T4 bonuses and get OOC procs do you have the luxury of popping off one or two FBs in a fight. Feral Aggression is our most useless talent.

I’m happy to give you tips on how to play when you have a group cater to your needs.

This was cringe even before his rebuttal, three minutes later.

Discord? Let’s hash this one out.

FB is not the “ideal” finisher, but it gets used. I never said it was more important than Rip, nor would my logs indicate I feel that way. It’s still a % of my damage that would be increased further through talenting FA.

I also do have T4 bonus, so your point on that is wasted.

I’m sorry, but the talents I sacrificed are directly PVE-effecting. They aren’t “freebie flex”. A person wanting to optimize their damage and performance with no other in-game goals would take those talents, and I didn’t take them. It doesn’t matter how big of a % they are. They effect PvE.

Lol links Naxx logs as bear spec…brilliant. Let’s also just ignore that it’s a completely different expansion with completely different balance in a completely different scenario of what type of guild we were both probably in at the time, different server, different motivations and factors around gameplay…

Nice reach.

You mean like every time you directly stalk a person’s logs or stats to try and make a rebuttal to their post? You’re like the king of that.

The king of cringe!

Yikes.

Reported for trolling. Easiest clicks I ever made.

Wait, you can’t do that. My parses are much better than yours. The vast chasm between us renders your reports powerless!!

while you were out partying, I was pressing consecration.

It’s out of my hands, now. Blizzard makes the decision.

and tbh I won’t knock the holy dmg parses, I think it’s kind of fun that you did that.

If I respecced for it, geared for it (including spellstrike and a PvP weapon) with some min-maxing, I think I could get reasonably impressive numbers. I keep forgetting about my Onyxia skeleton book too. That thing can do 1,000 or so damage over a fight, big for those Kara parses for sure.

I get that some people like to purposely gimp themselves in all aspects of the game using just one spec rather than have dual spec and optimize their play. But some of us don’t want to be mediocre in all the different parts of the game. Some of us like to play with a top raiding spec and a maximized off spec for use out side of raids. If dual spec is added you don’t have to get it. You can continue to use your one spec to do it all if that’s what’s fun for you. I never bothered to get dual spec on my hunter. For what I did with it I didn’t need it. But I got it for my priest and druid as soon as it was added.

I’m sure the courthouse will appreciate my intense discussions about elves turning into bears and cats… I’m at work, forums is about all you’re going to get for the next several hours.

Point being, point-for-point, you’re getting between 0% and 1% increase to your overall damage sinking anything into Feral Aggression. FB accounts for less than 5% of your overall damage at best right now. Later when we have sufficient ArP, FB will work much better and FA will be more important.

My point is that T4 favors using FB more often than you should… and we’re abandoning it for our T5. Once we get T6 both Rip and FB get a boost, but like I said we also get ArP which only helps one of the two.

Thick Hide is honestly luxury even for dedicated Bears since we have so much excess as is, but if you don’t Tank Tidewalker or the shaman add on Fathom-Lord, you don’t even need the EH boost in the first place.

Imp. LotP is more for hunter pets than anything else, and even then that’s only in the absence of Resto Shaman. It is definitely luxury.

Intensity is the worst of the bunch in even having a meaningful impact, especially in raiding. If you Tank anything even remotely hard hitting, you have endless Rage. If you gear for TPS, as most content this tier allows you to do freely, you have near endless Rage even if you’re just attacking from the rear.

That they have an effect on PvE, specifically for Bear roles, doesn’t really change anything when you don’t Tank and get to maintain everything you need for PvE Cat.

You’re literally making my point for me. You were on Fairbanks, just like I was, during Classic. You know the kind of guild that Kind of a Big Deal was, and you understand how those kinds of guilds play, and what those kinds of guilds demand.

My current guild is beyond casual in comparison. I could probably downgrade my weapon to something like the blue staff out of Botanica and still hold aggro while rocking full EH gear. We also haven’t killed a T5 boss with 25 guildies in our raid… sometimes not even 25 people. We damn near killed Tidewalker this week with only 22. I don’t expect to pull huge parses and I haven’t really overly concerned myself with parsing as I’ve swapped between Bear, Cat, and Resto in a single night.

If you find my reaching to a fixed comparison point in Naxx is a bridge too far because of all the variables you listed, you might want to consider just how silly you look not applying that rhetoric to yourself.

My guild on Fairbanks was the definition of casual, and I was not actively attempting to parse. We didn’t kill KT until like…super late. If you look at my damage logs in Naxx, I was pretty half-booty and not really doing much as I was mostly focused on surviving Patchwerk every week and not feeling carried on damage. By the time we killed KT I think GDKP clears were already doing it Naxx40 full clear in one night 2-3 hours, while we still took two full raid nights to struggle and clear the whole thing.

Guild name was Scrubs, fittingly.

Yet despite all of that I wouldn’t necessarily say my logs are horrendous, I mean, they aren’t green. Some are orange. So I’m not exactly feeling guilt over the results or anything.

I didn’t really start taking cat/dps as a role…uber seriously until TBCC, and transferred to join a guild as a cat main that de-emphasized the need for me to bear as much so I could focus on actually performing (although I still get called upon to tank for the night, like last night).

Yes, I know what kind of guild KOABD was.

I’m in the same boat as you. My guild hasn’t even cleared most of TK yet (other than VR), we barely managed Morogrim last week and struggled last night and didn’t get a kill.

Despite that I manage to perform somewhat notably, and it’s something I’m relatively happy about and I do what I can with the situation I’m in (have IRL friends in this guild).

In any case, I really don’t think we have as many differences as the forum arguments would have it seem like. We have differing opinions on things, but I doubt we’d be kryptonite to one another in a party, raiding, or chatting environment on discord. We obviously both care about performance and have the ability to perform.

I just don’t want dual spec added to the game. Blizzard could add it, but they shouldn’t, and I hope they won’t. It will hurt the game for me, it’s mere existence within the game, because things like that effect my outlook on MMOs/games I play.

Maybe many might celebrate it’s implementation, but this druid wouldn’t.

I have the food precooked and ready for the cooking daily, I keep a stockpile of it.

On most realms you can buy the food and the AH and still make a profit if you don’t want to farm the food. The fishing one is rng based but I average about 10 minutes a day doing those and the bomb quest. I have epic flying with the riding crop, have engineer teleporter to blades edge, and hearthstone set to shattrath. I prepared for finish them fast.

It does depend on what the daily is though for the cooking and fishing though. If they are clear opposite directions it takes a little longer, like the berry bush cooking daily and the negrand fishing daily (which I usually have bad rng on) that usually makes me doing the 3 dailies take about 15 minutes, but if they aren’t on clear opposite spots of outlands it’s usually around 10.

Pre-planning movements (engineer teleport and hearth stone), epic flying, and having resources ready for them definatly cuts down on the time it takes to do them.

I’m not lieing when I say it takes me about 10 minutes to do them on average, but I also min maxed the speed of doing them. Most people should be able to do all 3 dailies in 20 minutes easy. And 20 minutes a day is still not asking for a lot in terms of play time. Considering it also helps provide raid consumes (food) and some useful items that can sell for good gold as well.

I always chose the fish for tank and healer food because I still have about 300 agility food saved up from leveling fishing and buying low on the AH.

Log in, start a timer, and go get the cooking and fishing daily, and what ever other daily. Do your 3 dailies every day for a week and average the times. then come back and admit you were lying. Or do what you usually do. Double down on your lies.

We live in a very harass heavy age.

is this progress? I might tear up.

in feys defense, no fast flying.

I mean, if they could actually do this, would you go back and take back each time you called lies for this situation?

You know they can’t. I get why you don’t want to call out the lie when you see it from someone on your side. But it takes a truly dishonest person to weigh in on it and defend the liar. This is how I know what kind of person you are, from your posts.

i call out zip and rigor all the time.

I have no reason to claim lie for this because i have no idea if its doable or not.

this is cute.

and what kind of person am i?
