Dual Spec.. please?

That was a completely different issue …

You keep on bringing things up that aren’t even causally related…

They were deleting spam because the most community was actively chugging these boards after they slammed Nost with the C&D.

Completely irrelevant to the subject of classics value proposition…

…where did he say that?

No it wasn’t. Nostalrius was quite frankly the reason people started begging for WoW Classic.

LMAO WHAT???

HAHAHAHA.

Dude, just stop.

This is quite possibly one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen written on the subject of classic servers.

Good, react all emotionally and stuff. Look, I can do the same with Emojis:

Woah, impressive, right?

There’s no Blizzard poll about dual spec in Classic. It’s fine. There was never any need to be dishonest. Blizzard does poll its customers and considers that information. They don’t have any such information about Dual Spec.

They have polls from other sources about Dual Spec, but we can’t say whether or not Blizzard considers those polls. None of us know.

If I’m wrong, show me.

Then how would they ever figure out the players wanted it?

Enough to do what they said was impossible and eventually create Classic servers?

Classic servers were asked for LONG before Nostalrius. You are completely out of your league in this discussion if you truly think Nost was the beginning of the Classic movement.

Nost was significant for two reasons:

  1. They refined Mangos code well enough to the point that it presented a higher quality experience than typical private servers of the time.

  2. As a result it drew a large crowd which is what led to it’s demise, and gave Nost a foot in the door at Blizz to make the argument for why Classic could/would be profitable.

It didn’t START the begging for classic servers.

In fact the “you think you do but you dont” came WELL BEFORE Nost came to life.

Hang on, what’s the appropriate response for this?

LMAO WHAT???

HAHAHAHAHA.

Dude, just stop.

That’s an appropriate response, right? I can’t be sure, so I just tried to emulate what you were doing.

This is stretching it too much.

We wanted to let you know that we’ve been closely following the Nostalrius discussion and we appreciate your constructive thoughts and suggestions.

Our silence on this subject definitely doesn’t reflect our level of engagement and passion around this topic. We hear you. Many of us across Blizzard and the WoW Dev team have been passionate players ever since classic WoW. In fact, I personally work at Blizzard because of my love for classic WoW.

We have been discussing classic servers for years - it’s a topic every BlizzCon - and especially over the past few weeks. From active internal team discussions to after-hours meetings with leadership, this subject has been highly debated. Some of our current thoughts:

Why not just let Nostalrius continue the way it was? The honest answer is, failure to protect against intellectual property infringement would damage Blizzard’s rights. This applies to anything that uses WoW’s IP, including unofficial servers. And while we’ve looked into the possibility – there is not a clear legal path to protect Blizzard’s IP and grant an operating license to a pirate server.

We explored options for developing classic servers and none could be executed without great difficulty. If we could push a button and all of this would be created, we would. However, there are tremendous operational challenges to integrating classic servers, not to mention the ongoing support of multiple live versions for every aspect of WoW.

So what can we do to capture that nostalgia of when WoW first launched? Over the years we have talked about a “pristine realm”. In essence that would turn off all leveling acceleration including character transfers, heirloom gear, character boosts, Recruit-A-Friend bonuses, WoW Token, and access to cross realm zones, as well as group finder. We aren’t sure whether this version of a clean slate is something that would appeal to the community and it’s still an open topic of discussion.

One other note - we’ve recently been in contact with some of the folks who operated Nostalrius. They obviously care deeply about the game, and we look forward to more conversations with them in the coming weeks.

The relevant portion is here:

Unfeasible would be accurate, but not impossible. Put another way, Brack was indicating then that to run just the current Retail was a headache and a half, multiplying that by however many classic servers exist would likely be entirely untenable. However, Brack was sure to use the same caveat language Blizzard always does: nothing is forever, nothing is permanent, nothing is completely off the table.

no, see, that’s only an appropriate response to you, because everything you write is laughable.

Probably from customer contacts: forum posts that support it, subscription cancellations that mention it or mention something loosely related (“I hate having to respec all the time”). There’s a suggestion and feedback function in game.

Thanks for going on this little journey.

Yeah okay. Again, all you’re doing is distracting from your dishonesty.

Not sure how that can be true now. I basically got you to admit that a poll does indeed exist. Just wanted you to come to the conclusion yourself without having to outright tell you.

It’s a lot more fun when I use your own knowledge and understanding to argue my point rather than my own.

I’m sorry what? I’m not going to say this is a lie because I think you actually believe this makes sense.

But it doesn’t make any sense to me, could you explain?

What is the purpose of a poll?

What is the purpose of feedback?

Once you answer both of those, by dictionary or whatnot, compare the answers.

What is the purpose of a car?
What is the purpose of a train?
