how to solve respec issues. Run your daily dungeon and daily heroic. Run your PVP daily.
Do this 2 times a week
Congrats you have enough money to respec twice this week

I don’t know if this affects many people but as someone who loves to play spriest and holy priest respeccing can cost 200g+ EVERY time do to tailoring spec gear. Some may disagree with me but I think that the primal mooncloth and shadoweave gear should be able to be used if you made it regardless of spec. So in addition to the dual spec thing I would also like to be able to use my crafted holy priest gear without having to use sub-optimal OS gear.

Agreed. Dual spec is a huge topic and not a single person in my guild has audibly opposed it. It would just make the game overall better imo. People are very disappointed it didn’t drop with this patch.

Therefor I obviously want to be in my PvP spec.

And therefore I want to be obviously in my dungeon spec.

So the issue isn’t solved, it’s the reason for the issue!

Congrats, you have proven that you haven’t understood the problematic why people want dual spec!

I agree, he really helped us out here!

So if youre raid spec and wanna pvp. You run the heroic daily and the dungeon daily. Bam you have more than 50g. Maybe run one more dungeon just to be safe

Then you respec and go pvp and run that daily and Bam you have 50g again

You’re missing the point, it’s not about the gold! It’s about how many buttons you have to click …

Apparently having to click a few buttons as opposed to using a toggle is a massive problem in an MMO. More people would apparently “play the game” if they didn’t have to press buttons to do stuff …

/sarcasm

IDK I find it really hard to take the “convenience” argument seriously. On the one hand they claim to want people to have access to the game and then on the other a core facet of playing the game - pressing buttons - is too much for them.

I think your point is sound - the respec “gate” is not that big a hurdle - it’s not really stopping people accessing parts of the game. Well I don’t think it is - I can’t understand how.

In pvp unnecessary pve hurdles can hurt participation as the content is player driven rather than environment driven - by definition. But PVE is all about the hurdles - the hurdles are the point. And in this case respeccing costs and effort don’t represent much of a hurdle. A pve game is essentially an obstacle course. You remove all the obstacles and you don’t actually have a game, just a reward system.

There’s always been a tension in WoW between the PVE and PVP communities and that’s a really a difficult one to reconcile. But from a PVE perspective the “convenience” argument stinks.

Nethaera : Why are we allowing players to dual spec after all this time?
Ghostcrawler : We really felt like this was a great way to increase the flexibility available to players and encourage them to take part in more aspects of the game. To use just one example, some players like to participate in both raids and Arenas, which is awesome behavior that we want to promote. But, there are some talents which are more useful in one part of the game than another. Currently, players have to pay respec costs and go through the process of setting up the desired talent spec and action bars whenever they switch.

The new system makes this a much more logical process, saving on time and cost and allowing players to easily move from one aspect of the game to another.

You can’t have a discussion with this. You’re throwing an irrelevant quote about a different game in an effort to get some sort of killer blow but you’re actually not discussing anything. You’re trying to hit a gotcha but there’s no sense at all that you yourself are engaging with the points being made.

This isn’t discussion it’s combat and all you are doing is campaigning. There’s no discussion when all you’re doing is copy pasting a pet quote about WoTLK.

Nah original Wrath happened before TBCC. Very relevant. YOU’RE trying to hit me back with a gotcha but it missed.

Im not making a gotcha - you didn’t even address my point. Honestly grow up. I’ll engage with you if you want to discuss but not while you play silly quote wars and word games.

I am still waiting for you to make one.

Here’s one, grow up.

lol … now that we are done with your personal attacks … let’s talk about how amazing dual spec is.

Yeah it’s amusing isn’t it, wasting peoples time when you have zero interest in an adult conversation. If you cant engage in this topic on a level other than copy and pasting in an irrelevant quote repeatedly and then “loling” about gotchas then we’re done, there’s nothing to talk about. I mean the quote didn’t even relate to my point.

it’s just baiting at this point.

The quote proves that the original devs realized their error by not having it sooner and added it in attempt to make the game better. That’s it.

They weren’t the devs of TBC, GC started midway through TBC as lead game designer for WoTLK. That’s who you quoted. So it’s a herring and completely irrelevant. It literally proves nothing.

They were adding the feature in WoTLK and talking about why it would be a cool feature in wotlk - that’s the context.

It irritated me because it’s like when people trot out random Bible verses as arguments in religious discussions … it made no sense given the context of the discussion and felt like you were just baiting.

Well then I guess the dream of a good version of WoW is dead for me then.

What irritates me is I am forced to endure things like same faction BGs that remove the need to even have factions. Then being told that by someone else that enduring dual specs would make their gameplay experience so much worse than that. I understand these are not the same person but that doesn’t make the game more enjoyable. I didn’t even raid last night, I haven’t done Kara in weeks. I still need heroic arc to finish my TK attunement but I don’t see the point in logging into the game. Dual spec would be a refreshing change to the game vs all the bad ones they have made so far.

I only have a few weeks of subscription time left and I have no idea if that removes forum access. I plan to spend these next few weeks continuing to defend dual spec. I am not going anywhere until then.

The problem is theres no shortage of people in PvP. All dual spec is gonna add is allow people to raid log, switch to pve spec. Raid. Switch to pvp spec. And pvp.

No one will ever wanna do dungeons because they wont need to complete heroics or dailies for money
