I have read this thread thoroughly and have determined that Argentia is right and everybody else is wrong. Thank you for your participation in the thread, the matter is concluded.
No dual spec.

No dual spec.
There’s only 3 of you on the entire forum that are fighting against this, and all 3 of you are grey parsers.
What are the odds?
nope. you can’t do that out in the field any time you want, which makes a huge difference.
you are being deliberately obtuse at this point refusing to see any negative consequence of muh dual spec.
You know how many times I have said “they can make it so you can’t change specs in an activity” and all of you ignore that because it makes it perfectly fine to be in the game and goes against your weird no changes mind set.
by “in an activity” i assume you mean in combat. making changing specs out of combat only is still hugely powerful and game-changing not something i want in my classic vanilla fresh.
No like, when you enter into a dungeon, raid, or battleground.
Derp.
I feel like y’all are blowing dual spec out of proportion. While it’s true that you can swap virtually anywhere you are swapping between two very specific builds. If you want to make any changes to these two (and only two) you still have to return to your class trainer. As to one of your other points deincentivizing alts actually allows my character to be more “me” in the RPG and less of a tool (i.e. this is my gathering toon, this is my crafting toon, etc.). I understand disliking a feature but you also don’t have to make use of it.
Just my two cents
you should specify what you mean kinda important in communication sweetie
your idea is still not good enough
no dual spec
I would love to hear the “logical” reason why?
Also, “in an activity” is very specific.
Silence of course.
Too easy.
It literally is though.
This is exactly what should be done. 10g respecs and saving bars solves the crux of the issue without the social and gameplay consequences of dual spec.
Source? Most vanilla players would be perfectly happy with cheaper respecs.
Vanilla doesn’t have ranked PvP but PvPing with a raid spec feels like garbage and a lot of the raid specs like DS/ruin are absolutely horrendous in PvP.
I agree duel spec comes with consequences, but we absolutely should have cheaper respecs, like say for 10g just so PvP is playable for people who aren’t swipers or mages. I am forced to participate in raids to have gear for PvP, so just focussing on PvP isn’t a realistic choice. I should be able to switch to PvP for a reasonable cost.
What’s the difference?
If the outcome is a different spec, then what logical reason is there for going to a trainer?
Nobody has been able to answer that yet, because it’s just bad players wanting to make things more annoying for better players. That’s all this is. It has nothing to do with ruining the game because these players aren’t even affected by it at all.
This is the only rational compromise.
Can you explain what would be irrational about dual spec that you can’t use inside of an instance/battleground?
There are two scenarios here.
I am standing by the AH and a friend asks me if I want to join a battleground. I am in my pve spec so I say sure and use my dual spec to swap to my pvp spec and accept the invite. I enjoy the game.
I am standing by the AH and a friend asks me if I want to join a battleground. I am in my pve spec so I say sure, run to the trainer and pay barely any gold (you say cheaper respecs are good), swap to my pvp spec and accept the invite. I enjoy the game.
Can you, in your own words, explain to me how option 1 would negatively hurt the game?
You see, the outcome is the same. You want me to run to a trainer and pay barely any gold for what reason? Can you enlighten me?
I feel like Dual spec is one of those things that hardcore classic purists think would be terrible, but if it was ever added they would not be able to live without it lol
I just want a PvE and a PvP spec.
The only reason they don’t want it is because better players want it.
That’s the ONLY reason.
