This just isn’t true. You are not more powerful by swapping between pve and pvp at will. You can not swap to pvp when you are engaged in combat. Just using world pvp as an example, the amount of situaitons in which someone spots the opposite faction, swaps to a pvp spec and then engages is minor. Some people level in pvp specs on pvp servers just for these situations as it is, and in giving them the ability to do their pve portion in pve spec is QoL.
The second look is for Battle grounds, and in tbc, arena. You are not granted any additional power by having duel specialization. You are simply saved the gold costs of swapping your talents regularly.
Duel-spec does not grant anyone additional power. If anyone is to make an argument against duel-spec it should be an economic one as it removes a gold sink.
This argument is pointless. Ghostcrawler already addressed this many years ago. The only reason they didn’t bother entertaining the notion of dual spec initially is because they just didn’t think that many people would be interested in PVP. Dual spec was eventually added because they want players to be able to enjoy all aspects of the game without hassle. If you choose to use both specs for PVE, that’s your prerogative but stop crapping on the people that enjoy the ENTIRE game.

I’ve cleared Naxx 40 on three separate healers and two different classes. I am currently leveling a priest on fresh. I could reset my talents and heal any dungeon up to BRD with none of them spent. You clearly suck at this game.

how dare you let me have a spec to do world content that doesn’t make me miserable.
They want to be able to do everything with ever have any downsides ever. Healer classes are all horrible farming classes regardless whether you’re specced properly or not. Make a mage. Make a hunter. Everyone else does it.

that argument is flawed since they removed dual spec in MOP… so it’s not for pvp, but for roles.
wrong i played priest all of SoM and never respecced. i had a solid healing build that also spent a few talent points improving smite and holy fire. i farmed just fine.
and yeah, god forbid you level a dps alt for farming. that also works really well
So did I… but I know it’s miserable and I am happy to have dual spec. Usually you get to a certain gear level where it’s not too bad, but it’s still miserable… I have played SOD enough now to see how much it’s a huge QOL change.
and so I assume every people doing pvp.

Dual spec. should not be in Era.
The disconnect is you guys thinking a ‘below average raid’ kills bosses in 31 seconds and not 5 wipes and a ‘thanks for coming guys’ on majordomo after 3 hours.
You’re out of touch. You don’t know what bad pugs, that the meme specs play in, are like.
You know what is a QOL change tho higher drop chances on quest items. That would make more players happy then a Daul spec.
We don’t think dual spec. would entirely be bad in vanilla it’s how it’s implented. You should ONLY be able to ACTIVATE your dual spec. at a TRAINER.

definitely not true, and if they don’t buff raid bosses at all this season, then you could literally do most bosses with 20 people AFK
