Does an RPG need some arbitrary cost to playing other aspects of your character to be an RPG? FF14 doesn’t seem to think so.
You can have class identity, spec identity is a weird term/concept
I just can’t w rap my mind around the argument against dual spec tbh, I just can’t see one upside to the argument of not having it besides “no changes”
And it was all not necessary. They did it because they wanted to. Just like the issue with drums. Guilds that used leatherworking on all members did it because they ALL wanted to use drums for the advantage. They were in that type of a guild and wanted to find and USE every possible advantage.
Then come the wannabe guilds. They use world buffs but whine about it. The simple solution was to either not use them or find a guild that didnt care either way. Ppl got world buffs and died before the raid on pvp servers. They still raided.
Instead, players that didnt want to use drums cried so blizz made it so it was not necessay. The selfish little brats ruined it for the guilds that were made up of players that WANTED to use them.
The same applies to duel spec. If im in a guild that wants to kill a boss as fast as possible and they want a healer to respec to dps for that fight then that healer will be happy to do it because he wants the same thing.
Players like you need to stay the f out of those guilds and stop ruining the exoerience of the rest of the guild members. Find a group that has your same goals in mind and quit being such a selfish person. Karens. Jeeze.
Because being in the most optimal spec is not required for this version of the game. We don’t need to make changes for convenience sake. If rspec costs bother you that much try a hybrid build.
There isn’t really good arguments about it. Just that people want nostalgia. Honestly folks who say this haven’t really played full retail to understand why Cata to Shadowlands failed.
Have you ever wondered why people are playing a decade and a half old game? If you like the way current MMOs work then play them! Stop trying to change an old game! Some of us don’t like modern MMOs and are happy that we have an old fashioned mmoRPG to play. Please stop trying to take this away from us. Go play FFXIV or Shadowlands or something.
There are certain players on these forums that will go against any idea. Some ppl are regular posters and you start to see it in them. They just want to throw an argument out against whatever idea it is.
Ppl actuallybargumented about graphics that they could turn off.
Healers like to dungeon and Raid
But
Healers also like to farm open world
Healers also like to BG/Arena
I don’t think you guys have a single argument except “I don’t want it”
Somehow this respec cost makes the game harder, or more RPG feel to you? how does a cost associated with playing my full character improve the game?
If you argument is that “it wasn’t in TBC” fine, that’s true. But outside of that, I can’t see a single argument against it so far that makes any sense, as to how it actually effects the game.
Do you even have a job OP?
This is literally the cringest complaint I ever seen, the only point I see you tried to make is “rose tint glasses”.
You must want to stomp pve specced players in world pvp huh?
BC is already very time consuming to just participate in pve. Hours of raiding, hours of dailying just for the consumables. You’re literally crying because people don’t want to daily every day of the week just to be able to swap back and forth between pve and pvp.
And your point about hardcore raiding guilds is just maximum LUL. Bro the hardcore guilds do whatever they can to get the slightest edge, and if you can’t understand that, then just opt out of the hardcore guild. Or just git gud and learn to multispec. Psure they ask people to reroll whole classes and spend a ton of gold on catch-up gear/carrys anyway, and if they wanted you to respec, dual spec doesn’t give them anymore incentive to do it anyway. They are just going to tell you to go spend your hard earned gold to respec anyways.
Yeah I also don’t care for respec costs so I pvp on this toon and raid on my other priest. Seems like I found a perfect solution rather than begging for changes to game that aren’t necessary.
Your solution is to literally play and gear 2 of the same class to avoid respec cost, and you are arguing against dual spec…what the actual…gotta be one of the funniest mental processes I have seen on these forums to date. My god
Like many your comprehension of the game is very limited.
I’ll explain why. First, if you need extra healers in your raid because you came unprepared for the fights, you don’t even need to ask people to respec. All you need to do is tell your elemental shaman, boomkin, or second shadow priest that they need to put on a healing set and heal. These off spec healers are 85-90% as effective as full specced healers so long as they have the gear for it.
Second, it’s completely illogical to argue against dual spec from the casuals perspective. Dual spec is a huge win for casuals players. It allows them ease of access when it comes to a pve spec and pvp spec, or whatever else they desire. Dual Spec is a big win for casual players. There is no question about that and to say other wise is quite simply ignorant.
No I don’t need to gear two toons, they are geared for different aspects of the game. If anything it saves me the trouble of carrying around two sets and each toon has more bag space.
You’re the one crying about respec costs because it’s so inconvenient. It’s like that by design. Either suck it and pay the costs, try a hybrid build or roll an alt with your secondary spec so you don’t need to respec. There are already alternatives available.
I’m confused, isn’t there already a version of the game that allows you to change specs at will? Why not just play that version of the game? Why try to change an old version of the game in which specs actually mean something?
