Funny thing, we don’t always agree (which is great) but I always find you to be intelectually honest. So, I’ll instinctively dismiss people that argue that you are not honest. They can argue that you are wrong and I’ll weigh that up. But they cannot convince me that you are dishonest.

that’s the real issue. if dual spec was so damn great and opened up so many amazing fun options, why didn’t we see any significant, long lasting spike in players after it was implemented? lol

Anyone saying there’s no downside is being willfully & selfishly deceiving. Only boosted Andy’s would argue something like that.

Vanilla Classic proved that the minmax culture will infect even average guilds. Dual spec would result in raids demanding hybrids change specs from fight to fight to minmax the raid comp, and that they build a gearset for every role. Nobody wants that, but that’s what dual spec will bring with it. That’s a clear-cut downside you cant ignore just to get what you want.

I don’t care about that at all. But as has been posted a hundred times before there’s an easy fix. If that’s the problem with dual spec it could be only done in a major city and have a cooldown. Problem fixed.

No Dual Spec: “We prefer having 1 more healer/tank/DPS for this raid, but we cant expect anyone to spend 50g and have an offspec set of gear, so we’ll have to work through it”

With Dual Spec: “Since respecs are free, we expect every hybrid to have offspec gear and be ready to change spec when we dont quite have the perfect raid comp.”

Not fixed.
