its not hard if you can read.
We arenât playing retail
Iâm talking about how itâs going to work on sod.
It will work exactly as I described.
I can stormstrike him, rocket helm drop combat and then swap specs so I can use elemental mastery.
There is nothing complicated about it and I will be doing that every time I can with dual spec if they add it
Why would it work like that lol. You just invented some BS to try and gatekeep, its hilarious.
Why would it not?
To swap specs all you need to do is be out of combat
You will drop combat after you use rocket helm.
I can use one 31 point talent and then use the other after I swap specs
Iâm confused why you donât know that.
Have you ever used a rocket helm?
Itâs the same thing with sheep and sap. They drop combat after and swap specs. Itâs that easy
And youâll be OOM since in every iteration of spec swapping your lose all your mana to prevent exactly what your proposing.
I feel like weâve had this discussion before. Wrath introduces Dual Spec, but it also changes the meta, and does affect non meta-chasing playersâŚ
Elemental mastery costs no mana and makes your cast free and auto crit and you can batch it with shock. So you can essentially be fighting someone as enhancement or resto, and you can helm, swap to ele for elemental mastery. What this means is all spec shamans will have elemental mastery with dual spec if they want to, and it costs zero mana so your rebuttal doesnât even matter
If a mage swaps specs he can drink because he is out of combat. He can also simply resheep and keep drinking or use evocation
A rogue does not use mana.
People can also just pop a mana pot.
âGoing oomâ is irrelevant and is not the âgotchaâ you think it is
And itâs not even just rocket helm.
They can use mind control cap, or any class in the game can just use magic dust from the westfall elementals which is a 30 second sleep
And as I said before I donât care if they add dual spec. I will be abusing the absolute mess out of it in the exact way I described. Which is why I said itâs hilarious for these random retail people to say there is a no downside to it lol. It may work that way in retail, but not in classic.
My toons are a shaman and a druid. Each has 4 different possible roles, and except for the overlap between tank and melee dps shaman, you need a different talent set up for ALL of them. Even feral cat has a pvp and pve talent difference.
Dual spec would allow me to swap to a healer when I need it. Yes, I can improvise a gear and rune swap, but healer talents mean you are bad at everything else you do.
No dual spec for your healer friends is bad, mmkay.
I am a fan of dual spec, it should cost a hefty sum to acquire and also have a long cd when switching between spec though. At least an hour to avoid spec swapping often mid-raid on a boss-to-boss basis.
it cost 1000g in BC.
the respec cost in SoD is 10s, and caps at 1g after five respecs.
there are literally dudes in this thread who would pay 1000g for dual spec to keep from having to pay 1g, as if they are going to respec over 1000 times and get their moneyâs worth.
Such a silly argument.
We should already have Dual spec at creation of the character. Let people feel free to try different things out without pain. I never heal but would try it out on my druid but not going to spend for a reset to try something for a run to only spend the reset again and get my normal talents back.
Some things should have a little friction in the game to keep it fun and rewarding. Talents and exploring your character should not.
Itâs not fun running back to the trainer and redoing talent points/bars every time you want to do something else, which will only be more noticeable p2 and beyond. Hefty sum relative to the content we are doing now. Figuring at 40, 250g+ would be about right, assuming gold scaling for max level questing continues to go up.
Why dual spec specifically?
Nope
Yeah let them give us dual spec. Tank shamans will also have ele mastery at 40 with a helm or some magic dust in their bag!
you already can
are you seriously going to argue that 10s with a 1g cap is too onerous?
learn how to farm goldâŚ
1 quest rewards 1.5+ goldâŚ
You can respec a handful of times by completing 1 quest in hillsbrad foothills
What about dungeons? Should I run sub optimal spec? What if Iâm trying to kill level 31 mobs in RFK to farm necklaces, is that doable with PvP spec?
Two easy examples there.
Lack of dual spec hurts both PvE and PvP participation.
So your argument for no dual spec is that respec is so tedious that guilds simply wonât use it for their raids. But with dual spec since the tediousness goes away guilds will now use that to benefit them. Yeah I am not seeing the problem here. Mind you there is nothing complicated enough in this game to respec for during a raid anyways.
Imagine youâre sitting there before a raid waiting on summons or maybe even a world PvP opportunity presents its self. You have to bust out that sorry PVE build if you want to duel your friends or attack the enemy faction. No dual spec has actually made my SoD experience WORSE by making my interactions with the open world worse because I am tied to a horrible spec that cannot fight back in PvP. It has simply made me not want to participate in any open world events that I come across since I have to strictly plan for PvE or PvP.
Being âa part of classicâ does not mean it was a good thing. This is the season of discovery. Walking/Flying to a trainer across the map has long been discovered to be bad. Dual spec will not make anything you mentioned to be worse. In fact it will make all those experiences better. Rune quest are also task that do not have to be completed forever; respec has to be done over and over.
So because having to fly and walk to the trainer every time I want to PvP or PvE has made my experience worse I will not enjoy the rest of SoD, gotcha. Seems classic WoW players are just stuck in their ways and think their game is perfect. The only one seeing both sides seems to be the people acknowledging that this is not a perfect game and it is indeed full of flaws. We do not have to defend everything about this game. Itâs the season of discovery for a reason.
