Plz give us dual spec at phase 2
I would be happier if they gave it to us now But Iāll settle for next phase
Am I alone in hating duel specing? When I make a character in an rpg I try to make it a sort of expression of myself. When people are bouncing between builds willy nilly it kind of sullies the bond between player and their build.
Of course I want people to be able to swap builds, I donāt want noob traps. But it should cost gold, and you should have to go speak to a trainer.
FF14 has it so any character can be all jobs (classes), swap between them whenever, and level them all separately. I hate it.
It should cost gold, but not that much.
The point is: A pure dps class have no problems with that, but a class which perform all four roles itās just BAD.
Just take a look, Shamans and Druids can be tanks, spell based dps, melee dps and can be healers. They NEED to explore their classes, they are not just one single thing like hunters.
There is no point to pay more and more each time iām gonna test something or change my role.
I was in support of dual spec at first, but I heard many counter arguments and I understand itās drawbacks and tradeoffs. In raid settings you may be expected to have a certain offspec in your dual spec and switch that spec for whatever the raids need. Some players are okay with that especially for more competitive players focused on progression. Others really want to play their class in certain ways, they donāt want to have to switch to healing or dps or tank if they main a different role of that class. Dual specs change the atmosphere around that and of course you can try to maintain what you desire by communicating with others, but itās just another thing to metagame to get ahead. As we all know that can be quite annoying at times. Personally I found dual spec as something great for healers and offtanks to dps when not needed during a fight or just for pve/pvp specs or healers having a dps gold farm spec, but I can see the flip side. Runes do offer a little bit of that without having to completely respec so itās maybe satisfying enough. I think cheap respecs are great and would be okay with free respecs, but honestly we are lvl 25 we donāt need dual spec now, but we might see ita t 40. Dual spec also costed a lot of gold when first implemented. I imagine it will be a high gold cost as well this time as a gold sink, but I could be wrong.
As a side note, I think we could use some new gold sinks at endgame, like a riding skill after epic mount, which makes your epic mount more like a dynamic ground mount. Could be something as simple as running in any forward direction ramps up its speed to 130% over time and stopping resets it to 100% or if they want to create some mechanics and buttons give an ability while mounted for an additional 30-50% boost for 3 seconds on a 5-10 sec cooldown with 3 charges. Imagine a simpler botw horse system.
So donāt dual spec?
Yes you are alone. Going and having to switch specs before raids is just tedious. And costly for no reason.
I think we should get triple spec. 3 talent trees 3 specs. Simple.
This wall of text for no dual spec support is just insanity.
Thereās no āatmosphereā around having to walk then fly to a city then pay gold to change your spec. What in the world. Thatās just paying to do a chore.
We want to lose all the benefits of dual spec to waste gold and fly to a trainer?
You read that thing?
You misunderstood what Iām saying about atmosphere. It changes the raiding atmosphere and player interactions. Itās less common for guildies or other players to tell you to go back to town and respec for 50g just for a single fight. With dual spec, you can now have that other optimal spec and are expected to play that spec - both specs belong to the guild in some cases. It changes the way players play when they have the limitations of not having dual spec. That was the tradeoff.
Traveling and going into town is part of classic WoW. It was very intentional in the first place. Its another thing to keep the world and cities feeling alive. It gives you a reason to visit your class trainer at 60. Classic WoW is slow and methodical and has these chore like things and that friction is for the most part staying in SoD. Itās a classic wow seasonal server for people who wanted classic wow plus some changes, mostly based on discovery of runes altering your class playstyle and new abilities to improve classes, some new raids, and a focus on making the world more alive through discovery questlines and these world pvp events. The devs very much want things to still feel classic. I donāt think that will change.
If your main gripe is about going to a capital city to respec, I donāt know what to tell you. You might not enjoy SoD or just need learn to enjoy some of the friction and downtime, weāre not even at the depths of the amount of travel we have to do. We go through like a handful of zones, theyāre quite close right now and if youāre horde you have an even easier time.
Also, the devs said they are still discussing dual spec as stated on one of their interviews, about the right time, and theyāre exploring the idea. Thereās also ālogistical and technical issuesā. I think it will probably be added and will be good for most people - I can just see both sides, shocking right?
Dual Spec is needed by certain classes for sureā¦ especially flipping between PVP and PVEā¦
Go play wrath if you want duel spec. SoD is a dumb game mode blizzard should have never done. Blizzard completely pathetic now making Twitch hype streamer game modes.
Why hate optional things? Forcing people into a playstyle that you deem acceptable is a weird thing to want, especially if you arenāt forced into it yourself.
Dude why are you even here?
I want dual spec at 60 where the game stalls and weāre left with only PvP and raid logging.
Dual spec, make it cost 50g to unlock, then you can swap anywhere, for 1g each swap at 40, 2g at 50, then 4g at 60.
Yes, #NoChanges had itās time
Anyone that plays pvp or swaps roles to help friends understands why dual spec is important.
Its usually raw dps classes that cant grasp why people want it.
Its season of discovery, people should be able to swap specs very easily in this fun seasonal temporary mode.
I dont mind having to go to the town, but its nice having preset builds that also have your bars completely set up and ready to go.
I can just change my gear and runes, but not my talents, and its usually the same thing.
Yeah, pretty much. The whole ācommitment to a roleā bit is silly when we have respec, and is even sillier now that we have the ability to swap runes on the fly. The difference between a Tank Rogue and a DPS Rogue is a few rune swaps with almost zero loss in performance provided you like being Combat. Even when we get deeper in our talent trees, this doesnāt change all that much.
Lack of dual spec really just makes certain classes more onerous to play between roles than others, and thatās pretty silly in SoD.
