In before GDKP defenders arrive.

(It’s dirty gold.)

They got all their gold legit. They do GDKPs to get gold and GDKPs to get gear. They somehow managed to be a buyer and a carry without any other method to acquire gold or get gear. It makes perfect sense! /sarcasm

I’ll bet they farmed up every penny.

Yeah… way to point out the outlier and claim that is the norm. It isn’t.

That’s not even that much.

KT sword went for what, 198k preTBC?

If you gdkp on 2 to 3 characters a week 21k is chump change. These swp gdkps can net you a solid 10k gold for a few hours work. Easy mode.

in theory, a person could have multiple 70’s specfically shamans and commit to Zul Aman runs.

which on pagle, a person will pre pay 4 - 6k to reserve bear + gear of your class for just ZA

a person could make on average 1,000 gold a week per character just in zul aman. I wish I had 3 - 4 70’s and that’ just ZA

when wrath started, my main had more than 100k gold. mostly from dailies and fishing spicy crowdads and buying netherweave and vendoring the bandages.

gold happens easy if you play every day.

So… there’s alot of variables here that you guys really are just completely ignoring.

How many weeks did they spend trying to get that trinket? IT doesn’t drop every single week, and ontop of that they could have been outbid in the past.

You do realize if you do all your dailies on your characters, you make about 250+ Gold a day? Netherwing Dailies, Orgrila Dailies, Skyguard dailies, fishing dailies, dungeon dailies, and now Shattered sun dailies make it to the point you can easily max out your 25 dailies every single day. Can only attempt to get the trinket once a week. So every week you don’t get it you have about 1750 more gold next week per character you max your dailies out on.

And that’s just the dailies themselves, that’s not counting passive gold income from actually doing the dailies, which depending on luck can vary probably between like… 7-30 gold, maybe more if you get lucky with green drops and just vendor them, or whatever gold you make doing the daily dungeons (If you do the daily dungeons, I think you can max them out without it)

Do we know what professions the buyer had? If they are an enchanter, jewelcrafter, or alchemist, they could likely make a fair amount of money from their professions. Alchemists hoarding primal mights could easily sell a tidy profit of them since a buncha new phase 5 stuff needs primal mights. Same with mecurial adamantine, or any of the high demand sunwell cloth transmutes that people have been being able to craft since basically week one of TBC.

They also could have 2+ characters that they do gathering professions / crafting on, and dailies on as well?

I really find it odd that people are pointing to 21,000 gold is the amount that definitely screams “Gold buying”

You realize people without buying gold have managed to fund multiple upon multiple normal and epic flying purchases on various characters right? People have dumped thousands of gold on mounts just because they want to collect them. People have had literally since the start of classic to be saving money if they so desired to have started saving money since back then.

There’s an astounding amount of different explanations on why someone would want to spend a large amount of gold on a BiS trinket, besides just gold buying.

Honestly, just because someone is better at making money than -you- are, doesn’t mean they are swiping their credit cards for gold buying.

And this is coming from someone whom reguarly only does the isle dailies on two characters and makes their own consumables for raiding and just keeps seeing my gold amount slowly build up. I could do better, if I really pushed it, but I don’t really have a reason or need to.

the prices are so different based on server, and it looks like it’s based on gold prices.

for example
on firemaw you buy 1k gold for 12$ and dst sell for 12k gold
on faerlina you buy 1k gold for 7$ and dst sell around 20k
Also Thori’dal sold for 100k to toshih on gehennas
but Thori’dal sold for 350k to Aaym on firemaw
the gold price on gehennas is more than double the price than firemaw in term of exchanging gold, so the value of gold vs $$ is what deciding the prices in gdkp’s pretty much.

Just do ur dailies and sell bandages, you’ll have 100k gold ez and have both glaives for all ur alts. it’s ez trust me even tho i cant post on main. no kappa. millions of gold generated from bandage vendor trust me guyz. I only had to farm 33,333+ netherweave cloths to vendor that many bandages. It iz ez guyz, trust.
