The entire Classic project has shown that players are much better at the game now than they were back in the day. DS LFR would go much smoother today then it did in 2011.
Bringing LFR back in MoP with gear being available through alternative avenues renders LFR obsolete. People will not run it, just as they do not run T11 raids because the dungeons provide Heroic loot for completing H+ dungeons.
You keep mentioning gear and no where did i mention gear.
LFR was made for story mode, it was made for people who couldnt raid on a schedule.
You literally get off work and can queue into the raid without having to look for people or do anything to form the group.
The content is easier than normal.
Maybe cata LFR and MOP LFR are diffferent idk i never did them, but LFR is literally an automated feature that allows people who cant raid on a schedule to just log in and see the content when they get free time without any restrictions.

The primary purpose of LFR is to obtain gear. It is misleading to claim otherwise. The fact is that LFR gear will be available through alternative methods. Makes the need for it even less. Now, with that being the case, if LFR is released in Cata, and thatās a big IF, players will treat it like previous raid tiers. Why would they want to do LFR for possible loot when they can farm the gear in another form and not have to worry about RNG?
Look, iām sorry you lack insight, but if activision and blizzard donāt merge in TBC and blizzard stayed independent going forward, it is likely raidfinder never exists. If you canāt see that, especially after having devs say it was a mistake back then in hindsight, i literally canāt tell you anything to get the message across. Hereās what i mean. IT doesnāt matter why they say LFR exists, if there were competent devs that have leverage in decision making for design, they very likely would have said no to the idea.
look at the current state of most games heading from then into 2025 to get your answer on why they canāt cut out bad, bloated, redundant design. Game devs arent focused anymore on intricate systems in their games and how they weave it into the world they created
Im pointing out the truth players wont do LFR if they can get the gear they want with less RNG in anther way.
That observation does not hold true today. Consider the player base today compared to 15 years ago.

back then, there were no Heroic+ dungeons with H Firelands gear from a vendor or LFR gear being added in another form other than completing LFR. (most likely being tied to H+ dungeons)
Bring it back for MoP where it serves a real purpose, but for the last 6 months of Cata, it does nothing. At least in MoP, you can use it to do the legendary quest line. It does nothing other than give casuals gear in Cata that they can get through alternative methods.
Just take away all easier modes and turn this game into soulsborne where the only story you get to experience doesnāt arrive till hundreds of attempts.
I know youāre being facetious but those games do have ways to make them easier and even without using them Iāve never taken hundreds of attempts on anything.
