Druid Starfall needs to be redesigned

Like so many of the special privileges the devs bestow only on their pet druids, Starfall is one of the most egregious and unjustified. Not only is Starfall the most powerful AoE in WoW, but it’s also the most braindead easiest to use ability in all of WoW.

How do the devs even justify this ridiculous ability? Is it some laser-guided smart bomb that somehow knows who it should hit and who it shouldn’t hit? And how does it cover the whole damn area of your screen while other AoEs need to be targeted and mobs have chances to move out of the hits? I would like a dev to explain how such a ludicrously easy to use ability is allowed to do so much damage.

Starfall quite plainly needs to be redesigned. It must be changed to cast in a targeted circle like every other AoE, mobs must have a chance to move out of the area, and it must aggro all mobs in the target like other AoEs. If these changes are not made, then Starfall damaged must be severely nerfed. There is no justification for the easiest spell to also do the most damage.

Compare starfall to Mage Blizzard. Blizzard is a total absolute joke. How about starfall goes to mages and druids get blizzard, how many druids would take that trade? lol

starfall has always been like this lol
it doesn’t need to be redesigned or whatever
compared to last expac, druids never got to use sf

Elune guide and shoot herself into enemies of druid

You mean like every AoE spell in the game?

Pretty sure most AoE spells in the game are pretty braindead. And will hit anything in its circle, just as Starfall has a circle. Sooo…shrug.

I’m sure you know that I’m talking about non-aggro’d mobs that can be aggro’d if hit and Starfall should hit, yet somehow doesn’t. Other AoEs aggro non-aggro’d mobs in the target area and Starfall should also do that, yet it doesn’t somehow.

How do the devs justify and explain this unique special mechanic that makes Starfall so easy to use and impossible to ever fail, unlike every other classes’ AoEs?

Starfall is fine.

Maybe focus on your own class before trying to ruin other classes

If starfall could hit non-aggroed mobs it’d be useless in dungeons.

If you think today’s starfall OP…you clearly did not play Wrath 5’s arena boomies lmao.

Oh those were the glorious day of 5v5 lasting 2 seconds.

I feel like Starfall is exactly as powerful as a celestial meteor shower should be.

The whole point is that it SHOULD be targeted, just like other AoEs. It SHOULD have a drawback that it can aggro mobs you don’t want to aggro, just like other AoEs.

If an ability is so easy to use, then it should also be weak, so why is Starfall so powerful compared, for example, to mage blizzard that has these drawbacks.

Why is it that everytime one class has something good, people want to take it away?

Focus on your own class instead of demanding mine get needlessly nerfed.

I rarely play laser chicken if I can avoid it, but for those rare times when I do play it I’d absolutely LOVE if we could go back to Legion Starfall where it was a targeted ground AoE and I could stack multiple casts rather than what we have now where its just a maintenance buff any time there are two or more enemies nearby.

i always thought it was weird that priests also did not have this ability, since Tyrande knew how to use the spell…and she’s the high priestess so

I like how easy Starfall is to operate. No additional UI mechanics needed, no cooldowns to pay attention to. You just build up your Astral Power and let the sparkles fly.

I’ve never been a big fan of how Blizzard, Flamestrike, and Earthquake operate in needing to line up a targeting reticule after pressing their respective buttons. Things should be simpler, it just makes it easier for a wider audience of people.

I mean druids could totally be nerfed, they are insanely strong

it did lol

there’s a reason it was changed.

Druids are the chosen ones.
