Druid leveling tips

Started this Druid as an alt, gone feral. Any tips etc, no looms sadly

The best tip was already in the post. But to put it simply, go feral and focus on STR/AGI where possible. Talents depend on whether you want to beef up tanking or maximize solo fighting. You may prefer to focus talents on solo fighting because old dungeons are dead content and there’s still no RDF. You’re likely to be 80 long before that’s put in.

No real tricks to feral leveling. Stealth is great for dealing with caves, bear form if things get rough, hot yourself up between mobs so no downtime.

you can throw up your hots and then swap to cat form and still stealth around, and thanks to your low mana pool you don’t need highest level water but having water is still nice to have so you can at least throw a hot on yourself

Cat is great for single target leveling pew pew.
When AOE gets pulled, go into bear. I highly advise getting Glyph of Maul for that extra juicy cleave in bear.

You can pull with faerie fire. There is a glyph for that too - to proc OoC, but not sure on the level requirement for that (OoC - omen of Clarity - free cast)

Like Drain has said, agi/str will increase your damage output. Stamina, obviously, will add survivability.

Going into TBC & onwards (58+), I do find leveling as a boomie to be a lot more fun. Starfall at 60 pops! And you can heal with same gear in dungeons.

But as cat, you can still go into bear and tank dungeons (especially with Glyph of Maul)

  • Have innervate (40+) on your bars for mana. Either for yourself, or your party’s healer.
  • Make sure to have Battle Res mats on you. Even if it’s lower level.
  • AFAIK, things like Sharpening Stone work in Feral in Wrath, so it will boost your damage.
  • Nature’s Grasp ability is a great way to separate mobs if pull a big group.
  • As feral, in between pulls, just Rejuv yourself. And/or Regrowth and go fight.
  • As bear, you will be able to solo some harder bosses easier.
  • Check AH for weapons that give you highest “Attack Power in Feral”. There is a tooltip on most 2H weapons.
  • If big pack pulls, you can swap to bear and pop Demo Shout to reduce their damage.

(I googled the glyph of Omen, and it’s lvl75 req)

The only tip I can give you is just have fun.
I love kitty.
I love kitty pounce.
I love kitty stealth.
It is my single favorite toon to level.

They get better as you progress so don’t give up!

Contrary to everyone else, I actually found Balance way easier than Feral. You’ve still got your stealth to get around mobs you don’t need, and for kill/loot quests just pull everything in sight with Moonfire and then press Hurricane

Boomie is defo good, but I’d say starting 40 /w Glyph of Innervate is when it gets a lot smoother.

At starting 60 onwards, I do think boomie is a lot easier and more fun

I boosted my druid in TBC so I started at 58, but Balance is so insane when you get Starfall. It felt as good to level to me as DK and lock, which are totally broken levelers. Pull everything, barkskin, hurricane, melt it all and the crits restore all your mana. Starfall even melts ranged mobs that never come into melee range.

druids get amazing speed and flexibility out of shape shift.

learn to love it, learn to use it

any time you’re going more than 5 feet you should use travel form, use your bear form when you want to run past mobs to get someplace, etc.

played right perhaps only hunters level faster.
