This morning when I started playing TBC Classic I noticed my game will lag/freeze for 1-3 seconds when shifting into or out of cat form (i.e. from tauren to cat, bear to cat, cat to travel, etc.). Someone in game said this may be related to the energy tick change but I have no idea. This happens with and without any addons running. Anyone else noticed this or have any fixes?
edit: Did some more checking and it only happens when going into or out of cat form.

This is very much a problem for me too. It’s game breaking, honestly. Especially in PvP. Very frustrating to play something this broken, as shape shifting into/out of cat form is a constant thing.
I hope this gets fixed soon.
Edit: I had disabled all addons in an attempt to fix the issue. This had no effect.

It’s track humanoids and some kind of cache issue
Agreed! This bug is really bad for PvP. Please fix!!

I confirm this is happening to me as well and only in or out of cat form. If I turn off track humanoids the issue goes away, but changing into cat form can toggle it to turn back on sometimes and then the issue comes back unless I turn it off before changing back out of cat form.

This is awful, and it needs to be fixed immediately. The only temporary solution I have found is logging out to the character select screen and logging back in, but it only lasts about 20 minutes on average.

just do a /reload instead of relogging.

This is happening for me aswell
After disabling the addon Questie, it’s gone for now

Definitely happening for me as well and is pretty game breaking. Sometimes a reload/relog works for 10-15 minutes or so and sometimes it starts again next shapeshift. Have zero addons.
I have this issue as well.
Also experiencing this, it appears to be related to Track Humanoids being on by default when you shift in and out of Cat Form… pretty gamebreaking.

Same here, i have to reload every 10-15 minutes when the freeze starts again
First I can’t get my aquatic form because of a bug which makes the chest zone out when you get close and now my game freezes because of track humanoid I’m really glad I chose to make a druid! 2 insanely annoying bugs that slows my leveling down when I’m trying to rush to play with my friends when tbc launches…
Just like everyone here, I’m having the same issue and it’s really annoying. Only fix, as others have said, is reloading UI and you’ll get a 15-20 minute period of it not happening.
Can confirm, it’s impossible to pvp with this, and even if I turn it off (which on my opinion is a disadvantage to me) It turns it on again by its own, and lags everything a lot
For the people in this thread, you can temporarily fix this solution but typing /reload in your chat box,. or not using track humanoids (boo)
Very frustrating bug for PVP and levelling.
The solution I have found is if you have herblore, you can track herbs instead of track humanoid. You can do this by editing the widget around the minimap or just hit find herbs in the spellbook.
That seems to fix it until you log out as you can only track 1 thing at a time.
I would assume this works for mining too but cannot confirm on my druid.

Has blizzard acknowledged anywhere that this is happening? I don’t wanna go into BC next week with this bug…
I’ve been having the same issue since the TBC prepatch. From what I can tell for me personally it’s an issue with Questie. I’ve had to disable the addon after a while of playing so I can shift without lagging it out.
Nope. It’s tracking as a whole and they refuse to say anything.
The way blizzard “confirms” bugs now is when they fix it.
