What is the droprate for this in Classic? According to WoWhead, the droprate is at .03%. I’ve already seen about 4 in Dalaran today on Pagle after just logging on… there’s no way this .03% droprate hasn’t been buffed. Maybe it has to do with the droprate buff on Retail?
On a server with 20,000-30,000 players you’re bound to see a lot of rare mounts.

i used the figure of 15,000 players killing xt. .03% of 15,000 is 4.5. Your observations are in line with that.
Already seen it dropped once, and the warlock in the group said it was his second time seen it dropped, so… yeah deffo buffed

I meant I saw 3-4 in Dalaran at the same time… there’s no way 15000 people can be in Dalaran at once all on the same layer and the server doesn’t explode
Even assuming there’s 750 people in Dalaran at the same time, .03% of that is .225 rockets…
By “I’ve already seen 4 today in Dalaran,” I meant right after logging on to do the dailies for that day, I saw 3-4 rockets out of at most 500 people in Dalaran, not even considering the other major cities.
Keep in mind all of this took place around 3:00 PM on a Thursday

I actually got it tonight. I seen a total of 1 other person with it today. But i did see it more than previous years in bg’s etc so i would guess a slight increased droprate. I still cant bealive i won the roll

You’re completely ignoring the fact that WoW players all have big egos. Any time someone gets a new mount, especially rare mounts, they go to Dalaran and afk on them to show off. If only 3 people on your server have the mount, it’s pretty likely you’ll see all 3 in Dalaran. You don’t need 15,000 or even 750 people in Dalaran to see all the mounts.
Even a 0.03% chance is a 50% chance for it to drop.

I saw 100+ people on the rocket in orgimaar last night on altkandiland realm, and thats with its 9 layers of layering
