I started playing middle of TBC in 2007, bought Outland flying right when I hit 70.

Moved on to WoTLK and got cold weather flying when I hit 80 on my first toon, then got the account bound version to give to my level 78 alts.

Cata gave us flying on day one when you hit 85.

Mop gave use flying on day one when you hit 90.

I played for three days in WoD, then un-subbed until pathfinder was released.

Didn’t play legion until pathfinder was released with Tomb of Sargeras.

Didn’t play BfA actually at all.

Didn’t play shadowlands until 9.2 (flying was released in 9.1 with korthia but I had no interest in grinding a zone that had no flying). I really liked Zereth Mortis, though.

Enjoyed all of DF with dragon riding on day one.

Enjoyed 11.0 with dragon riding on day one.

If blizzard releases next season with no flying in the new zone, I will not renew my sub until it is possible to unlock flying.

Even then, I very likely won’t come back mid-season because I’ll be too far behind gear-wise and missing all those myth track vaults.

So best I can say is that I’ll come back for the next season (if flying is available day one in the new zone).

Ok then mate: put your money where your mouth is and prove it.
Stop hiding behind a Classic alt with a hidden profile. Post on your main. Let someone bored cross reference your achievements if you’ve got nothing to hide.

pathfinder needs to just disappear that method of play is already making players angry and it also wastes valuable time on other things to be done. Devs just need to go back to the basic pay your learning skill and it is done. The rest can go to better programming content also if a pirate ship, a cat, and a motorcycle can fly the car can have skyriding too right Marty!

It might. If they spent a lot of time making the city look great from the ground I’m cool with it. Flying mounts would suck in cp2077, or GTA, so maybe, maybe it will be better without.

If their decision was actually guided by mass outcry against being unable to fly immediately, they wouldn’t be creating new zones where flying isn’t immediately possible. It seems more likely that they were just capitalizing on the popularity of dragonriding and expanded skyriding.

This is about the only instance wherein I would be alright with having flight restricted, though, because it’s something new like dragonriding was, could be fun, and gives me further cause to blast eurobeat.

People dealt with Argus without mass leaving. They put up with pathfinder for four expansions straight without leaving. They won’t leave over a single patch that has an alternate fast travel system.

Yeah they just gave us flying right away after that because they just wanted to, and not because people complained about it and quit the game over it. Totally. Whatever you need to tell yourself.

Part of the reason dragonriding/skyriding is popular is because people like being able to fly right away. I even remember one of the things I heard most when DF was released was “thank god we can fly right away”. There was so much feedback left about this, if they’re just gonna ignore it and design zones where flying isn’t available right away they can sign their own death wish I guess.

It’s hard to trust them on this when they don’t have a great track record on it. It’s only been ~1ish expansions now where they actually just let us fly right away for the entire expansion and there were no complaints about this.

If they just decided to forget all about that and start in on this crap again, that would be really stupid of them.

There’s gonna be an achievement called “Roads…? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads ” that rewards you with a car mod that lets it fly.

Considering the mount is apparently going to give us 400% movement speed, I’m not worried about the slog part. Not every zone needs to have flying, in my opinion.

that’s your opinion but most people would disagree with you, as you can already see from the numerous amount of threads that are not happy about the 11.0.7 zone having no flight for six weeks and the possibility that this new 11.1 zone has no flying.

i haven’t seen anyone say anything positive about the 11.1 zone, every thread is basically complaining about no flying.

so it seems like a pretty big issue for most people.
