I bought the Globlin-Fused greatbelt from the Auction house. When I viewed the item on my character, it was a red colour. After I bought it and went to transmog it, it was green. This belt cost me 199k gold and is now essentially useless. After doing some research, it seems that it is a limitation of the dressing room to show the correct colour but truth be told, that isn’t my problem. How is a new player supposed to know that? I don’t think I should have to check an external site in order to see the accuracy of my purchase.
Customer service was incredibly unhelpful, directing me to a bug report instead.
These forums are strictly players-helping-players, with the only Blizzard participation being moderators. There are no GMs or Blizzard “Customer Service” employees here. For that, you have to put in a ticket, and GMs are bound by pre-established policy, which includes this:
Customer Support can’t refund or reverse an unwanted auction house purchase or sale.
While the below information is from AI, so might not be 100%, it should give you a good idea if what your seeing, and I suspect the belt you purchased was a LFR belt.
The Globlin-Fused Greatbelt changes its primary color scheme based on the raid difficulty from which it is looted or equipped. Because of a known bug in the game’s preview dressing room, items may appear as redin the Auction House but show as green once applied to your transmogrification set.
The color variations follow the standard Liberation of Undermine raid difficulties:
Thanks, it looks like you are right. I still maintain that this is absolutely unacceptable. Nobody new to the game is going to think “hmm, I should probably check an external site to make sure that the dressing room isn’t bugged”. Very, very unfortunate and a massive turn off.
