Why does the 402ilvl gear not have a separate piece for off-hand or two-handed?
I want an Intellect staff for my priest but get a dagger. So am I supposed to buy a bunch of Dreambound Weapons and hope for an off-hand? Does off-hands exist?
I’m pretty sure this is the same as past events but its a little annoying to not add specifics for weapon slots.
I opened the “weapon” item and got a 2H staff for my mage. Clearly casters could get the 1H (without the off-hand) or for the same price a 2H (which is often better than 1H + Off-Hand). No clue if the weapon box could give an off-hand.
Blizz loves their RNG, but it sure is frustrating for players. Also they should just do away with 1H+Off-Hand for casters and just always give a staff. Sucks for rogues and others that have to have a main/off hand but meh… design decisions from ages ago. At a minimum, they should make three separate RNG boxes: 2H, 1H (main), Off-Hand.
I suppose we should be grateful we can even get an RNG shot at a weapon, there’s no trinkets and I seem to recall Legion catch-up vendors not having weapons either.
Doesn’t the vendor just sell a 402 1H+OH for like 100 each of whatever the new green dust currency is called?
Nope that vendor has just a Dreambound Weapons box…neither vendor has a Off Hand …they do this crap every time with stuff like this…if you can’t get a staff and get a one hand weapon you either pray to get a offhand from a box if they are even in game or go buy one off the AH…it sucks they do it like this.
I must be confusing it with the vendor for the weekly currency then.
Check out the vendor for the rifts. Believe it sells off hand stuff using dilated time capsule currency. 402 also, if not mistaken.
They do; just buy the Time Rift one.
Get a weapon crafted. Base level of those is like 410. Most people can probably default to the 424 version by now.
This is an old pet peeve of mine.
Any rewards system that offers weapons should ALWAYS provide either an appropriate 2H weapon or a set of weapons (2x 1H, MH / OH) that fill the ENTIRE weapon slot.
Any vendor system should include ALL options and the currency costs should be normalized (e.g. 2x 1H weapons or an MH / OH set should cost the same as 1x 2H).
Why is this so hard for Blizzard (not sure how it is these days, but PVP honor / conquest costs years ago took into consideration the different weapon combos)?
Bingo Dawnpaws…they always seem to neglect adding a Off Hand when they offer up a one handed dagger or mace…I have run into that many times myself.
I’ve always thought that Rogue weapon drops should always come in pairs.
Hunters get a complete weapon.
Staff-using casters get a complete weapon.
Come to think of it, I don’t think any class should be disadvantaged by having horrible luck getting one of two pieces to drop.
My Paladin took forever to get a decent shield last expansion. He’d get 2-handed weapons dropping (despite being Protection: ergo weapon and shield), but never a 1-handed sword or mace or whatever he COULD use, and never a decent shield.
He ended up finishing the expansion with a phenomenal sword… and a totally crappy shield.
Likewise, my Rogue had to run around with one good sword in one hand, and a terribad 1-handed axe in the other.
Oh that’s really damn annoying. They had specific weapons on the time rift vendor. Weird that they wouldn’t on this one too.
As someone stated a bit back…you’ll have to go do Time Rift seems they offer an off hand …not sure I haven’t looked…
Fortunately my next character I’m leveling is a rogue, so dreamsurge weapons should be no problem. Incidentally, you get a tonne of the coalescence while leveling in the dreamsurge zone.
I am done leveling any more characters…I am just doing the Dreamsurge for mounts…pets and toys…I don’t raid …neither do my alts…most I do for a raid is LFR and my ilvl is fine for that even if I even do it…I am so brunt out now with grinding…
Matter fact just before this add of Dreamsurge I was not playing wow but playing new game called Palia…I love it …its a wonderful MMO game where you build your own home …make stuff…garden…hunt…fish…they have in game events…and its all free…right now they are on open beta and everything you make and do in the beta will transfer over to Live later this year.
LOL, and this is why this has been a thorn in my side for years.
Back in Wrath, I tanked a weekly alt run in ICC still using a shield from Old Stratholme, was well into heroic ICC before I got a shield from Ulduar. Everything else was ICC / H ICC gear.
Last expansion I had to use the Dinar system to get a shield or I’d probably have been using some random junk from a leveling instance.
Yeah but…you can just get something crafted this expansion. Even if you don’t have enough sparks for a 424 two-hander (or both a 1h and Oh), you can just get one of the blue weapons crafted with a Whelpling’s Crest, and those go up to 408.
This is such a strange thing to be annoyed about in the current system.
This neglect of not including a off hand from certain vendors that are put up like this or Rep ones…has been going on for years and years it needs to be stopped and fixed…its beyond stupid they don’t include a off hand when they offer up a one hand…
