We all know the spell.
It’s just come to my attention that the most iconic warlock spell no longer has a function. It does not heal. It does not do damage. It does not drain.
Are we just going to stand here helpless, expansion after expansion, as blizzard kills of the very essence of what makes our favorite classes our favorite classes?

Not really. It’s been a more and more useless spell as the expansions have gone on. Hasn’t saved my butt from DMG in years. I never use it I have pots and stones.
Really if this one spell is what you think defines warlock…

If you still have drain life in your action bars you’re actually griefing
Spell does no damage and has no actual utility anymore
It’s not supposed to do much damage, it’s a healing spell and defensive spell.

Because Last time I check my Warlock had access to Life Drain…

The only time Life Drain did notable damage was after it got to max stacks and you soul rotted, it functioned as a full heal and akin to casting soul drain on everyone. It wasn’t that big outside of its heal.
