I agree that drain life is 100% broken. Why should we care? Because it makes some of our talents worthless.
Accrued Vitality = worthless
Death’s Embrace - half the the ability is worthless
Soul Rot - The drain life portion is worthless
Essence Drain - This was my favorite PvP talent in DL. Now its sadly never ever going to be used.

Drain life shouldn’t go back to it’s previous iteration imo, if it does they’re likely to nerf our baseline survivability to compensate.
I’d much rather the drain talents be changed to something more practical.

death’s embrace is worthless the entire time. It only heals you for 30% more if you are at or below 35%. one point over 35 and it goes back to its normal rate. Because it no longer snapshots the healing bonus it just leaves you barely treading water every time instead of acting like a proper rebound.
Ill say it again, add a 3% of the warlocks max hp to the damage dealt by drain life. This fixes the ability at every single level and is scale proof.

when you have to rely on brann to heal you because drain life is so weak, thats an issue

The screwed up thing is that sometimes ill take a ton of damage in a fight while out solo and find myself searching my bags for food to regen. Drain life is so trash im having to play like a classic wow player.

The things is our survivability is good it isn’t overpowered. Having a CD reset on healthstone didn’t automatically makes us DKs survivability.
That spell drain itself need to scale much better than w.e it is now because it’s currently useless. In both pve or pvp. Is basically how corruption is for both demo/destro.
Is like kitchen china. Ohhh wow you have that spell but don’t use it. It could technically be treated as an active CD overtime heal. Like I forget that one cd we had that would heals us.
Though careful what you wish for.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking.
I almost wonder if when they were doing their pass over lock abilities they forgot just how much health we would be having this xpac. I mean at its current iteration it was ok for last xpac and even shadowlands, but I’m sitting at almost 5 million health right now and 250k healing isn’t even a drop in the bucket. Healthstones are nice, and dark pact is a nice shield, but I shouldn’t have to rely on bandages to heal myself up.
It feels that way because drain life is healing worst than DF drain life which makes no sense.
Is like the ability itself is from lvl 65 or something. Even at its weakest at lvl 80 it should heal for some amount but it doesn’t do anything.

Agreed drain life is weaker now then it’s ever been in the history of wow. It doesn’t do any decent damage and the healing is beyond negligible. The supporting talents for drain life fail to help. An extra 10%-30% Of nothing is still nothing.
Damage aside this spell needs to be changed to actually restore around 3% Of the warlocks total HP per tic.

The real problem with dream life is that you have multiple talents. that affect it and claim to modify it, however, with those modifications it is still completely useless.
If they want to keep it in the game fine, but don’t make talents contribute to its uselessness.
Especially a final point node that increases its damage healing when under 35% - as if that does anything at all.

That execute he has as DPS though can shave off a TON of hp you’d have to burn through in higher delves though. Its tough to pass up.
I’ve found a use for Drain Life. When I run Awakening the Machine as Destruction, I use it on Medbots since they heal each other. It’s a great help at the end of rounds since there is some almost unavoidable damage in that place.

It isn’t about survivability. It’s about using the spell drain life to drain life.
Drain. Life. It takes their life (does some damage, it doesn’t have to be a lot) and gives it to us (heals us).
It is in fact, an insignificant amount of healing. You can’t even out-heal 1 regular trash mob smacking you, anymore, and the damage does not move a player’s HP bar at all.
Thankfully the next patch says it will have it’s damaged buffed by 100%, and since it heals for 500% of the damage done, that should affect its healing too.
warlocks need baseline howl of terror back, and a warlock version of iceblock so you cant be trained in seconds by zug zug in pvp.
