You didn’t, that’s why I mentioned it when you said dragon riding was an improvement. That’s your opinion, and that’s fine.
You forgot to mention that dragon riding took hover away. In my opinion that alone makes anything they do with dragon riding inferior.

mining is so bad with it I stop as soon as I hit 100
I didn’t forget it’s a well know fact, I mentioned what it added because you were being dishonest saying dragonriding didn’t add any new feature and only nerfed flying.
This is a lie it add way more than it took away no matter how you look at it

What I thought was most nefarious was the field of vision changes and increasing the turn radius after the content creators praised dragon riding.
I might be able to put up with losing hover if they hadn’t used those artificial mechanical methods to make it more difficult.

And it doesn’t mean it did. Your old car did exactly what it was needed to do - it got you from A to B faster than walking or riding a bike did. And sure, it didn’t have all the bells and whistles that your new car did, but it effectively did exactly the same principle action: it provided a form of travel that was better than the alternatives.
Other than when I hovered to do something else for a short time, I was never AFK when I was flying. Unless I wanted to end up flying off the map and having to retrieve a fatigue-killed toon. I had to guide it, change course, change altitude and sort out where I wanted to land. I was always ‘playing the game’.
And if they did remove standard flight, well, that would be me adios. I mean, eventually I will need to retire anyhow but that would be the button that would turn the game off for me. That you feel its even necessary is very selfish.

I personally don’t really think it’s enough immersive.
If you truly want immersion, you should demand that they make a few changes to Dragonriding. For example, whenever you hit an obstacle or land without slowing down, depending on your velocity, you should either get injured or die instantly from the impact. Also, when it’s raining, if you land on a relatively flat and smooth surface, you should slide a bit, again depending on your velocity.
Also, every time you die with your dragon, you need to go see a vet and an armorsmith to fix your dragon and its armor(armor for a dragon should be mandatory, I mean you go to war in the world with it, it needs some kind of protection). You should also be required to feed your dragon like hunters used to do with their pets.
You should also be required to use each of your dragons once every day otherwise Alexstrasza will send some humanoid dragons that work for D.E.H.T.A to take your dragons away and you will not be able to get a dragon for a while. You will also need to re-apply for a new Dragonriding license using the correct forms(make sure to use blue ink pens only).
There are a bunch of other things they could do to add to the immersion.

I prefer the immersion without all the work. I don’t mind using 4 buttons to fly at 800% mount speed
Some very good points. It’s only the good immersion players like, not the truly realistic ones.
I thought yesterday when I slammed into the ground from full forward movement that it was odd that neither my dragon nor I suffered any damages. Yet if I were to dismount on the way and I hit the ground, I certainly would.
If they want immersion, then put in the full RP version of it and make players pay for the benefits.

Yea its great having a flying mount that runs out of energy. It really adds to the immersion when I have to land and just sit there and let energy recharge.

flying with the map open is a acquired skill you get mostly by failing at it. think it took me a month of doing it to get to the point i can ignore dragon riding and look at the map and see what wq are up and worth doing without having a problem. oh and this isny flying up high where i dont have anything to fly into this is also me flying low and avoiding stuff

Yes thank you Lizzard for preventing my toons in DF from flying on mounts I earned or purchased in the store. I guess we know what “DF” stands for now.

I mean, we’re still in the part of the expansion where we normally would still be grounded, so not like it’s a new thing.

It is the only reason why I am still here.
Getting gold from races rather than emissary boxes like in SL was absolutely a step up as well due to DR being good.
If you do mess up and forget about vigor for a bit it can be annoying to get back into things if you’re in a weird area, but all you need is 2 to get going at a decent speed. If you’re a gatherer, that helps tremendously as well.
Good; because people like you are holding the game back from becoming truly great again.

Run out of vigor? Stop. Gather something, Vigor recharged!
Aren’t you able to right button the mouse which changes camera angle versus left button which changes movement direction?
Yep, that’s me, grabbing hold of the game and digging my heels through all those 14 years of supporting Blizzard with my hard-earned money. I’m just a small, round dead weight.
Thanks for making me aware of it, because Blizzard kept giving me Beta access over 4 expansions and they were equally obviously unaware of my detrimental effect. Neither of us knew, right.
