I play most of the game other than PvP, check my achievements. I’ve played since Vanilla and never had a problem. I do get sick to my stomach on VR and FPS games.
I’m not asking for dragon flying to be removed, nor am I demanding regular flying now. I’m fine with ground travel and flight points until regular flying comes out with a Pathfinder system.
Not all disabilities have to do with that. Some cause vestibular issues which lead to motion sickness when using the mounts. Because of the speed and effects.
They could create an option to have the effects around the mounts removed. And enable regular flying.
I enjoy the feature myself, and think that if they can find a way to I’d like this in other flying zones at some point. It is unfortunate that some with real accessibility reasons can’t enjoy it.
I really don’t think dragon riding is that hard, and if it is difficult for you, maybe it takes some practice. It’s only been out for a few days as well. From the sounds of it you just don’t want to learn
Last night I took some time to just fly around and hunt for glyphs. Didn’t use a guide or map or anything, wanted to find them the natural way. They’re in predictable spots, either in the top of a tower or on a mountain.
Turns out, after you get that fifth vigor, it’s positively delightful. Handily found most of the remaining glyphs, and now I’m pretty confident I can fly nearly the full length of the continent without landing.
I found them fun to find, think about the approach to getting them and the execution and completion rewarding. Everything shouldn’t be just given to us without any time/thought and effort, or else what’s the point?
I was frustrated with it too initially, but once it clicked navigating got a lot easier and the sheer speed of travel made the slightly more active gameplay much more worthwhile. Some tips.
1: Don’t press the first button. It’s just for the race courses and if you’re already on trajectory with your destination and want to get there a ‘tiny’ bit faster. Otherwise it’s a complete waste of vigor.
2: When you press space / the second button to lift off from the ground pull up with your mouse at the same time. This will send you higher and give you more speed to convert into momentum.
3: Once you’re in the air the second button is your friend. You don’t need to pull up as much but you should aim to be using height not speed to gain distance.
4: The 3rd button is good for getting max speed immediately after take off if you’ve got some upgrades and not much else.
As soon as I started pulling up in tandem with the second button the whole thing clicked and got much, much easier.
The two highest glyphs are in Waking Shore and Thaldraszus. The Waking Shore mountain peak glyph I got with no extra vigor, and thr Thaldraszus mountain peak I got halfway through Thal as my third zone for glyph collecting, maybe with four vigor.
They aren’t hard to get at all, you just have to be smart enough to land somewhere when you need to.
On top of that, once you get a glyph, you don’t have to get them again on alts.
